Our Team, Your Impact
The Senior Manager – Strategic Sourcing ‘Strategic / Biologics’ is responsible for leading strategic sourcing and contracting activities across assigned External Manufacturing (EXM) portfolio areas. This role plays a key part in executing sourcing strategies, RFx events, supplier negotiations, and contracts while driving value through disciplined sourcing practices.
Reporting to the Senior Director – Strategic Sourcing Lead, this role operates as a hands-on sourcing leader, translating category strategies and business requirements into sourcing plans, negotiations, and supplier agreements. The Senior Manager is accountable for driving sourcing execution excellence and building strong working relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing events for assigned EXM categories, suppliers, or initiatives aligned to sourcing priorities.
• Plan and execute RFx events, negotiations, and supplier selections.
• Ensure sourcing activities address cost, capacity, quality, service, and risk considerations.
• Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers, including pricing, capacity, and key commercial terms.
• Partner with Legal and cross-functional teams to support contract development and execution.
• Support contract implementation by ensuring clarity of sourcing intent and negotiated outcomes.
• Deliver measurable sourcing value through cost optimization and contract execution.
• Support achievement of annual savings and value targets.
• Track sourcing outcomes and benefits using standard tools and templates.
• Engage suppliers through structured sourcing processes and commercial discussions.
• Maintain awareness of supplier capabilities, capacity constraints, and market dynamics.
• Provide market and supplier insights to support planning and execution.
• Ensure sourcing activities comply with procurement policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing teams to ensure sourcing decisions are feasible and compliant.
• Partner with Category Managers, External Manufacturing, Quality, and Manufacturing stakeholders to execute sourcing initiatives.
• Communicate sourcing plans and outcomes clearly and consistently.
• Apply standard sourcing tools, templates, and processes consistently.
• Identify opportunities to improve sourcing efficiency and execution discipline.
• Contribute to sourcing playbooks, standard work, and procurement tool adoption.
Your Skills and Experience
Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered.
Education/Certification/Experience
Associates degree required
Bachelors or Masters degree preferred
A minimum of 7 years of experience leading end to end strategic sourcing and contracting activities, preferable within external manufacturing or regulated industries.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Strong working knowledge of sourcing and negotiation practices
Experience delivering savings and sourcing value initiatives
Familiarity with pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated manufacturing environments preferred
Solid stakeholder communication and collaboration skills
Analytical and problem solving capabilities
Stong execution and delivery mindset with attention to detail
Effective negotiation and commercial acumen
Ability to operate effectively in evolving procurement environments
Salary Range
The annual starting salary for this position is between $111,680 - $139,600 annually. Factors which may affect starting salary within this range and level of role may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
