Senior Integration Architect – Manufactoring
The Data, Analytics, and AI Organization of the Digital Transformation Unit at Bayer Consumer Health operates a global transactional data integration backbone. This platform is designed to connect internal and external applications and systems, providing a uniform experience for customers, consumers, and employees. The backbone offers composable infrastructure modules, development frameworks, CI/CD automations, and developer tooling to software engineering teams that build integrations on top of the platform. As a Senior Integration Architect, you will be responsible for planning and designing integration processes while leading a team of engineers to implement those processes. A key activity will be aligning with Squad Leads in your Unit regarding new interfaces.
Your Tasks & Responsibilities:
Integration Planning and Design: Lead the planning and design of integration processes & interfaces to ensure effective connectivity between various systems and applications, predominantly in Product Supply area
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance and support in the implementation of integration solutions.
Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with Squad Leads and other stakeholders to understand integration requirements and align integration strategies with business goals.
Technical Oversight: Ensure that integration solutions are scalable, reliable, and maintainable, adhering to best practices in IT architecture.
Documentation and Standards: Create, maintain & review comprehensive documentation for integration processes, standards, and best practices.
Intercultural Communication: Foster an environment of open communication and collaboration among diverse teams across different geographical locations
Qualifications & Competencies (education, skills, experience):
Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Data Science, or a related field. Significant relevant experience may also be considered.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in IT Architecture & design: specifically in system integration, designing distributed systems and API design
Experience with NodeJS and AWS services (SQS, CloudWatch, Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, IAM, Networking Service, Document DB).
Familiarity with IaaS (Terraform)
Azure DevOps, GitHub Repos, and GitHub Actions.
Linux command line tools and shell scripting
Compliance Regulations: Experience with building IT system in a GxP environment
Project Management Experience: Demonstrated experience in managing IT projects, Agile Project Management techniques, coordinating with international partners, and understanding the structure of large organizations, estimating costs and timelines.
Integration and Automation Expertise: Knowledge of CI/CD processes and experience in building and deploying integration solutions.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Intercultural Competence: Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment, respecting diverse perspectives and fostering teamwork.
Language Proficiency: Fluent in English, both spoken and written. German is a plus.
