About this opportunity

Clinical Data Management and Programming

Søborg or Aalborg, Denmark

Join Novo Nordisk as a Senior Clinical Data Scientist and play a key role in delivering high-quality clinical trial data that supports the development of innovative medicines for people living with serious chronic diseases. Working closely with global trial teams, statisticians, and regulatory experts, you will drive clinical data science activities throughout the clinical development lifecycle, from trial setup and execution to regulatory submissions.

Your new role

As a Senior Clinical Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in planning, executing, and delivering clinical data science activities across global clinical development programmes. As a key member of multidisciplinary trial teams, you will collaborate with regulatory experts and external partners to ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and submission-ready clinical data.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading clinical data science activities from trial setup through analysis, submission, regulatory interactions, and the preparation of regulatory submission documents.

Providing expertise on trial design components, including electronic case report forms (eCRFs), Data Flow Plans, Blinding Plans, protocols, and statistical analysis plans.

Ensuring high-quality Study Data Tabulation Model (SDTM), Analysis Data Model (ADaM), and tables, figures, and listings (TFL) deliverables that meet industry standards and Novo Nordisk requirements.

Acting as an operational partner within trial squads, supporting key data-driven decisions and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including contract research organisations and functional suppliers, to drive efficient and compliant trial execution.

Driving continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing within Clinical Data Science, while helping to shape future standards and ways of working.

Your new department

You will join Clinical Data Management and Programming, a global organisation responsible for delivering high-quality clinical trial data and analyses that support development activities and data submissions to governmental approval authorities. The department combines scientific excellence, advanced technology, and deep knowledge of clinical development to ensure reliable and efficient execution across the development portfolio.

As part of a highly collaborative and international environment, you will work closely with colleagues across Research and Development, as well as with internal and external partners worldwide. We foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, knowledge sharing, and professional development, where diverse expertise comes together to solve complex data challenges and accelerate the delivery of medicines to help patients around the world.

Your skills and qualifications

We are looking for a proactive and scientifically driven professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working on complex clinical data challenges.

You will ideally have:

A PhD or master’s degree in life sciences, natural sciences, engineering, or a related discipline, together with more than two years of experience in statistical programming and clinical trial data analysis, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.

Strong programming skills in R, SAS, or similar programming languages, as well as experience with SDTM, ADaM, TFL generation, and regulatory submission deliverables.

Knowledge of clinical database technologies, data models, drug development processes, and Good Practice (GxP) requirements.

Experience collaborating across functions, geographies, and external partnerships, combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Excellent planning, organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical topics to specialist and non-specialist audiences, a continuous improvement mindset, a genuine interest in innovation and new ways of working, and fluency in written and spoken English.

Success in this role requires a self-driven, accountable, and collaborative mindset. You enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams, take ownership of your deliverables, and are motivated by improving processes, developing expertise, and contributing to better outcomes for patients worldwide.

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
