The Position

Position Summary

As a Senior Application Specialist at Roche Diagnostics, you will act as a scientific expert driving operational excellence across both Molecular Diagnostics and Core Laboratory divisions (Immunology & Clinical Chemistry). Based in Chandigarh, you will deliver customer support, facilitate assay validations, lead customer training programs, and drive commercial adoption of Roche’s assay portfolio across regional healthcare institutions.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Problem Solving & Escalation: Investigate and resolve complex technical problems and customer complaints regarding instrumentation, reagent performance, and assay workflows.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales Account Managers, Field Technical Support Specialists, and Regional Service Teams to troubleshoot system issues and optimize lab workflows.

Method Validation & Correlation: Design, execute, and analyze assay correlation studies and verification/validation protocols alongside customer lab personnel to ensure international quality compliance.

Customer Enablement & Training: Develop and deliver end-user training programs on operational protocols, quality control measures, and diagnostic software platforms.

Client Engagement & Market Intelligence: Maintain a regular routine of on-site client visits, gathering field intelligence, operational feedback, and clinical insights to inform regional sales strategy.

Technical Communication: Participate actively in regional and national conference calls, documenting technical issues, tracking recurring escalations, and sharing best practices.

Commercial Assay Promotion: Support regional business development goals by demonstrating scientific menu expansion, workflow efficiency, and clinical utility of Roche assay lines.

Key Requirements

Education: Master’s degree or higher in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.

Professional Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in the In-Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) application sector, with demonstrated proficiency spanning Molecular Biology, Immunology, and Clinical Biochemistry.

Language Proficiency: Strong professional working fluency in spoken and written English.

Core Competencies: Strong analytical troubleshooting abilities, clear interpersonal communication skills, self-motivation, and a hard-working, customer-centric mindset.
