Seed Account Manager - newgold
Role Summary
The newgold SAM is a strategic, field-facing role responsible for driving the successful regional launch and commercial expansion of camelina through the newgold network in Montana. This individual leads account partnerships, facilitates farmer education, monitors crop performance in the field, supports biofuel pathway certification, and captures key learnings to scale, all in close collaboration with newgold agents and Bayer internal teams. The role combines strong business acumen with hands-on agronomic engagement to deliver a positive and productive farmer experience while advancing Bayer’s long-term newgold camelina strategy.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Agronomy
Create, coordinate, and execute all agent training, via in-person and virtual formats, to ensure strong customer service and support of newgold seed.
Create, coordinate, and execute a series of farmer education sessions that promote the benefits of newgold seed and the newgold network, and provide best agronomic practices to achieve the greatest yield and return on the acre.
Visit each farmer and field that plants newgold seed during the season to provide agronomic support and capture key learnings for product development.
Collaborate with local Bayer teams, enabling functions and in coordination with newgold agents.
Support digital data capture of agronomic data for biofuel pathway support and compliance.
Account Management
Identify, assess, recruit and onboard newgold agents based on selection criteria aimed at delivering the highest farmer experience.
Identify and execute tactics that drive adoption of newgold seed with farmers.
Conduct annual business planning with each newgold agent.
Track and monitor agent performance to ensure agent criteria is being met.
Sell and promote newgold seed to achieve annual targets.
Provide an annual sales forecast to help guide seed production and inventory management.
Collaborate with local Bayer sales teams and enabling functions
WHO YOU ARE:
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree;
Agronomic knowledge of crops grown in the Northern Great Plains.
Sales or account management experience with a proven track record of achieving commercial goals.
Proven ability to lead through influence without direct authority.
Ability to build effective business relationships across multiple divisions of organizations.
Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, negotiation skills, and leadership.
Ability to balance Bayer and customer needs to achieve mutually beneficial business results.
Strong collaboration, communication, and influencing skills to drive execution of account plans.
Account management skills that include big-picture understanding and creative problem-solving.
Willingness and ability to travel within Montana.
Willingness to conduct regular field visits and trainings throughout the growing season.
Valid Driver’s license and eligibility to drive a company car or pooled vehicle (driving record must meet guidelines based on the company’s Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers and MVR will be reviewed as part of pre-employment screening).
Preferred Qualifications
Sales and technical agronomic knowledge of camelina.
6 years of relevant professional commercial experience in related field; OR
4 years of relevant professional commercial experience plus a Master’s or PhD Degree in related field.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $ 152,900- 180,400. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
