About this opportunity

We Are Teva

We’re Teva, a leading innovative biopharmaceutical company, enabled by a world-class generics business. Whether it’s innovating in the fields of neuroscience and immunology or delivering high-quality medicine worldwide, we’re dedicated to addressing patients’ needs now and in the future. Here, you will be part of a high-performing, inclusive culture that values fresh thinking and collaboration. You'll have the room to grow, the flexibility to balance life with work, and the opportunity to better health worldwide, together.

Our Team, Your Impact

This role is part of the Purification Process Development group within Biologics CMC. The group owns downstream Drug Substance development across Teva's biologics pipeline, from early development through commercialization and lifecycle management. The Scientist will design and run purification process development studies that directly support scale-up, and manufacturing readiness and regulatory filings. The Scientist will work on multiple molecules, including late-stage monoclonal antibodies and next-generation antibody formats. This role suits a scientist who wants to see their work move molecules toward patients, from the lab bench through to the clinic and commercial manufacturing.

How You’ll Spend Your Day

Technical Execution & Scientific Leadership

Independently plan, run, and interpret bench- and pilot-scale purification studies (chromatography, filtration, viral inactivation and filtration, UF/DF) to meet product quality and yield targets.

Apply sound scientific and engineering principles, including DoE, to optimize processes, troubleshoot them, and make them more robust.

Contribute to process characterization and help define control strategies for late-stage and commercial processes.

Data Interpretation & Communication

Turn experimental results into clear technical conclusions and recommendations that guide project decisions.

Author development reports, protocols, and presentations for cross-functional teams and leadership.

Regulatory & Lifecycle Contributions

Author downstream sections and supporting data for regulatory submissions (IND, BLA, MAA).

Support scale-up, technology transfer, and cGMP clinical manufacturing campaigns, including on-site support and root cause investigations.

Collaboration & Influence

Partner with upstream, analytical, drug product, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory teams as part of an integrated Biologics CMC organization.

Represent downstream development on project teams under general direction from the group lead.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

Evaluate and implement new purification technologies that improve process performance, scalability, and cost of goods.

What You Will Work On (First 12–24 Months)

Developing and optimizing downstream processes for late-stage programs moving toward Phase 3 and process validation readiness.

Building out the downstream toolbox for next-generation antibody formats, where purification challenges differ from standard mAbs.

Contributing to external collaborations with academic and industry partners on next-generation purification technologies.

How Success Is Measured

Timely delivery of well-designed, well-documented studies that address relevant program questions.

Quality and rigor of study design, execution, and reporting in support of technology transfer and regulatory filings.

Learning agility and increasing independence, demonstrated by progressing from study execution to ownership of defined downstream development workstreams.

Your Skills and Experience

PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related field, with 0–2 years of industry experience.

Hands-on research experience in protein purification, separations, or bioprocessing.

Demonstrated ability to independently design experiments, analyze data, and communicate results clearly in writing and presentations.

Also Good to Have

Experience with AKTA systems and UNICORN software, membrane filtration, or TFF.

Familiarity with DoE and statistical tools (e.g., JMP).

Exposure to industrial internships, scale-up, or cGMP environments.

Interest in complex modalities such as bispecific antibodies.

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
