We are seeking an experienced Production Team Lead to oversee daily Drug Substance manufacturing operations, lead and develop production team, and support the successful transfer of manufacturing process from R&D into commercial production.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring operational readiness, and delivering safe, efficient and complaint manufacturing while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, develop, and manage a high performing production team, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of the manufacturing schedule.

Take accountability for successful technology transfer and PPQ readiness, ensuring a smooth handover from Development to Technical Operations.

Build and maintain team capability by ensuring personnel are appropriately trained, competent and engaged.

Drive a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the manufacturing department.

Partner with cross-functional groups (R&D, QA, Engineering, Supply Chain) to troubleshoot, resolve issues, implement effective solutions and support long-term commercial readiness.

Ensure deviations, incidents and quality issues are appropriately recorded, investigated and addressed.

Contribute to the site’s strategy for operational excellence, sustainable growth and continuous improvement initiatives.

Knowledge, skills & experience:

Demonstrated experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences or other regulated manufacturing sectors.

Proven leadership experience within a manufacturing or technical operations team. Experience within Drug Substance or Biologics Active Pharmaceutical (API) Manufacture is desirable.

Experience supporting technology transfer and New Product Introduction (NPI) from R&D into commercial manufacturing is desirable.

Experience in driving operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Strong knowledge of quality systems, including change control, quality event management and CAPA processes, with the ability to lead investigations and apply structured problem-solving tools to resolve complex operational issues.
