Astellas’ Global Capability Centres – Overview

Astellas’ Global Capability Centres (GCCs) are strategically located sites that give Astellas the ability to access talent across various functions in the value chain and to co-locate core capabilities that are currently dispersed. Our three GCCs are located in India, Poland and Mexico.

Working Environment and Location

GCC POLAND: This is a permanent role based in our Global Capability Centre in Warsaw, Poland and hybrid working with the expectation for some office presence. Flexibility may be required in line with business need. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office

Purpose and Scope

Act as a Digital Supply Chain Subject Matter Expert within the PDM-Digital organisation, translating business strategy into scalable, compliant, and value-driven digital solutions. Supports and, where required, leads the delivery of digital transformation initiatives across global supply chain and manufacturing, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and business priorities. Provides Domain expertise in the areas of Advanced Planning and execution Systems like SAP IBP and SAP S4

Role and Responsibilities

Work within the PDM-Digital team as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), enabling business functions and leveraging DX capabilities to execute business strategy successfully

Support the Lead PDM-Digital Supply Chain in translating global business strategy into clearly defined, value-driven IT initiatives

Report project progress to Steering Committees / Programme Boards, ensuring transparency on risks, dependencies, and value delivery

Ensure availability of robust project plans covering technical, organisational, process, change management, and training dimensions

Ensure Astellas Manufacturing functions and CMOs understand, support, and adopt IT initiatives

Act as a key interface between business, IT (DX), and external partners, ensuring responsiveness to business feedback

Lead, jointly with the business, the selection of digital solutions and third-party providers

Ensure initiatives align with the enterprise IT landscape, leveraging existing capabilities wherever possible

Develop, maintain, and communicate system lifecycle roadmaps for manufacturing and supply chain systems in scope

Support benefits tracking and value realisation, ensuring expected outcomes are delivered

Ensure adherence to GxP, validation, audit, and regulatory requirements

Support governance processes (e.g., CAB, system lifecycle management)

Ensure solutions meet quality, compliance, and audit readiness expectations

Essential Qualifications

Strong expertise in digital supply chain systems (SAP IBP, ERP, Manufacturing systems)

Strong expertise in SAP IBP, ERP (S/4/ECC), and manufacturing systems, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable digital solutions

Solid capability in data analytics and visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, SAC) with a focus on data integrity, master data governance, and enabling decision-making

Proven experience in project delivery and stakeholder management in a global environment

Strong understanding of pharma supply chain and manufacturing processes

Knowledge of GxP, compliance, and validation frameworks

Experience working with system integrators and technology vendors

Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline

Advanced degree (e.g., MSc/MBA) in Digital, Supply Chain, or Technology Management preferred

Relevant professional certifications (e.g., SAP, Agile, Cloud/Data platforms) desirable to support digital solution delivery

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of integration architectures, system lifecycle management, and GxP/validation requirements within a regulated pharma environment

Strong ability to operate in complex business environments and translate requirements into data solutions/designs/architectures.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively across regions and time zones.
