[Observational Research Manager]

What you will do

Join Amgen’s Center for Observational Research (CfOR) to generate high-quality real-world evidence that informs drug development, product safety, regulatory decision-making, and evidence-based healthcare.

As Observational Research Manager, you will support pharmacoepidemiology and causal inference activities across East Asia, with an initial focus on Korea and Japan.  You will contribute epidemiologic expertise to product safety, benefit-risk assessment, regulatory evidence generation, and other real-world evidence needs across the product lifecycle and help strengthen regional research capabilities.

You will serve as a strong scientific contributor to study protocols, analyses, regulatory and scientific communications, and peer-reviewed publications supporting Amgen's research and development objectives.

Reporting to the Regional Epidemiology Head of Data and Analytics Center, this position will be based in Seoul, South Korea, with flexibility for remote work within Korea, subject to company policy.  This role may require occasional travel within East Asia to support regional collaboration and deepen understanding of local healthcare systems and real-world data capabilities.

Key Activities:

Design and execute pharmacoepidemiology studies addressing product safety, benefit-risk assessment, regulatory requirements, and other priority evidence questions across the product lifecycle.

Apply epidemiologic and causal inference methods and use appropriate real-world data sources to address scientific questions.

Lead interpretation of real-world evidence on adverse events, risk factors, background rates, and treatment outcomes.

Collaborate across East Asia and globally with epidemiology, safety, regulatory, medical, and data science teams to define evidence and appropriate study approaches.

Contribute epidemiologic expertise to regulatory submissions, post-marketing requirements and commitments, risk management activities, and other product safety initiatives.

Develop study protocols, analysis plans, study reports, scientific presentations, and peer-reviewed publications, while contributing to external scientific understanding and appropriate use of real-world evidence methods.

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree in Epidemiology, Pharmacoepidemiology, Public Health, or related discipline with substantial observational research training

Experience designing, executing, analyzing, and interpreting pharmacoepidemiologic research within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, academic, or public health setting

Experience planning and managing observational research projects

Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams across geographies

Strong scientific writing, presentation, and communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

Experience applying causal inference methods, including target trial emulation or causal roadmaps, to generate real-world evidence.

Experience using secondary healthcare data, including claims, electronic medical records, registries, or other large-scale healthcare databases in East Asia

Korean, Japanese, or Chinese language capability.

What you can expect of us

As we work to develop treatments that take care of others, we also work to care for your professional and personal growth and well-being. From our competitive benefits to our collaborative culture, we’ll support your journey every step of the way.

In addition to the base salary, Amgen offers competitive and comprehensive Total Rewards Plans that are aligned with local industry standards.
