About this opportunity

Job Summary : National Sales Manager is responsible for developing and executing the national sales strategy for Dr. Reddy's retail generics portfolio in Australia, driving sustainable revenue growth, market share expansion, and profitability. The role leads sales force effectiveness, key account management, product launch execution, and customer engagement initiatives while building strong partnerships with wholesalers, buying groups, and key stakeholders. As a people leader, the National Sales Manager is accountable for developing a high-performing sales team, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering business objectives in compliance with company policies and industry standards

Roles & Responsibilities: 

1. Sales Strategy & Business Growth

Develop and execute national sales strategies to achieve revenue, profitability, and market share objectives.

Identify growth opportunities through market analysis, customer insights, competitive intelligence, and channel expansion.

Lead key account and buying group strategies to strengthen market presence and customer penetration

2. Financial & Commercial Performance

Deliver sales and profitability targets through effective forecasting, budgeting, and performance management.

Monitor sales budget, sales performance, sales forecast, inventory, and commercial investments to maximize return on investment and business outcomes.

Drive data-driven decision-making through analysis of market trends, customer behavior, and sales performance metrics

3. Sales Force Effectiveness

Design and optimize sales force structure, territory coverage, customer targeting, and performance standards.

Establish sales KPIs, monitor execution effectiveness, and implement corrective actions to improve performance.

Collaborate with the SFE lead to localize and implement relevant global and regional SFE initiatives, driving sales force productivity, KPI optimization, customer coverage effectiveness, and execution excellence across the Australian retail team

4. Customer, Channel & Stakeholder Management

Build and maintain strategic relationships with wholesalers, buying groups, pharmacies, healthcare professionals, and other key stakeholders.

Collaborate across portfolio, supply chain, finance, regulatory, and marketing teams to remove barriers and deliver business objectives.

Drive customer engagement, distribution expansion, and product ranging initiatives.

5. Sales Analytics & Business Insights

Develop and communicate actionable sales insights to support data-driven decision-making and business planning.

Analyse sales performance, market share, IQVIA data, and customer trends to identify growth opportunities and business risks.

Monitor sales, field force effectiveness, and customer coverage metrics, providing regular performance reports and recommendations for improvement.

6. Product Launch & Execution Excellence

Lead commercial planning and execution of new product launches in alignment with portfolio strategy and business objectives.

Partner with CoE, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Portfolio teams to ensure launch readiness, product availability, and seamless market execution.

Build business cases, assess market opportunities, and maintain a robust pipeline of product filings and launches to support sustainable growth.

7. People Leadership & Capability Development

Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team through performance management, talent development, and succession planning.

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus.

Build organizational capabilities by identifying development needs and implementing targeted coaching and training interventions

8. Governance and Compliance & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Ensure compliance with company policies, Code of Business Ethics, industry regulations, and governance requirements.

Maintain operational discipline, reporting accuracy, and execution excellence across the sales organization.

Educational qualification: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Post graduation is preferred

Minimum work experience:

Experience in Pharmaceutical selling is a pre-requisite, Key account management experience is preferred

Atleast 5 years of people management experience in Sales

Experience in generic prescription medicine selling is desired

Skills & attributes:

Experience in managing generic retail sales teams.

Demonstrated consistency in sales results.

Understanding of local pharmaceutical generic market, key trends and existing relationships with buying groups

Knowledge and skills in sales and marketing management.

People management and coaching skills.

Cross cultural orientation.

Strong communication skills.
