Here's what we're looking for:

As a Digital Biomarker Data Scientist,you will be essential to address the next challenges in Diabetes Care by shaping our next generation continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) solutions that will transform the patient experience with unprecedented actionable data insights. Join our team at the mySugr site in Vienna or alternatively in Sant Cugat or Penzberg as a Data Scientist within the RIS Digital Biomarker Data Insights sub-chapter. We co-create innovative digital biomarker and remote patient management solutions and translate them into health technology implementation changing patients lives!

Your mission:

You co-develop new algorithms for our diabetes companion app and support in the certification process under MDR/FDA to launch them as product features - in close collaboration with the other science and product stakeholders.

You take on a leadership role in the development process, by guiding people with your profound technical knowledge in python, statistics and machine learning while still conducting hands-on implementation work.

You deliver scientific data analysis to support regulatory interactions, the development of marketing materials as well as peer-reviewed journal articles to establish the biological, clinical and patient relevance of novel developed digital biomarker solutions.

You lead data analysis activities in diverse matrix teams embedded in a complex multi-disciplinary stakeholder environment.

You stay current with the latest technology around the data science ecosystem and diabetes technology.

Essential skills for your mission:

University degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics, natural science or informatics.

7+ years of hands-on experience in data science on digital biomarker data and time-series data preferably in the diagnostics / pharmaceutical / medical (device) environment. Expert knowledge in machine learning and other data driven modeling techniques.

Strong track record in analyzing time series data, ideally related to health sensor data.

Profound knowledge in Python (pandas, tensorflow, numpy, pyspark etc.).

Familiar with standard code development practices and tools (Git, PEP8, Agile software development etc.).

Experience with AWS in a data science context is a plus.

Strong in communicating complex data insights effectively to diverse stakeholders and used to work collaboratively within large, agile, multinational teams in multiple locations.

Driven by a strong patient and customer focus with a goal oriented mindset.

Experience in leading algorithm development projects and in leading other data scientists is a plus.

Understanding of regulatory requirements for digital health technologies and Software as a medical device (SaMD) is a plus.

Exposure to diabetes related technology, e.g. glucose simulation (e.g. via digital twins), algorithm development or similar is a plus.

Experience in on device algorithm deployment is a plus

In Austria, mySugr has a legal obligation to disclose the minimum salary according to our collective agreement, which is gross €3.455 - per month for this position. But! Rest assured, we offer amazing competitive compensation packages which take into consideration current market trends, therefore you can expect a higher offer that reflects your experience level.
