Position Summary:
The Manager, Contingent Labor Procurement, Americas will be responsible for managing approximately $200 million in spend for Johnson & Johnson Companies across HR services inclusive of Contingent Labor. The spend is managed in close collaboration with the Director HR Service Procurement, Americas and the Global Category Team and requires collaboration with key stakeholders across all J&J sectors and functions to execute. This role will plan and direct the organization’s activities and deliver against targets for financial performance, quality, and service and compliance adherence, including corporate social responsibility.
The role will provide regional leadership in the Americas for executing against category strategies, leading the implementation of global category strategies, maintaining key business partner relationships and managing key supplier relationships. Supplier Relationship management will be key here with our Tier 1 partnerships inclusive of driving accountabilities to our SLAs and KPIs as agreed upon in our contractual agreements.
This spend is highly complex in nature and requires a close collaboration with key stakeholders within the business to execute. This individual will identify, develop and direct the implementation of Procurement goals and strategy. Plan and direct the organization’s activities and deliver against targets for financial performance, quality, and service and compliance adherence.
Develop and drive the Procurement vision for, with and through the stakeholder community.
Develop the vision, strategy and implementation plan for HR Services categories of spend that will effectively meet the long-range requirements of the business partners and deliver maximum value for J&J
Program Manage our resource programs across the business segments and cross functions across North America.
Interface directly with CEO’s and other supplier leadership to ensure J&J’s objectives are met, including quality, service, innovation compliance, and cost.
Identifies business demand requirements and partners with Business Engagement Leads to deliver annual value improvements and drives competitive advantage.
Understand long range requirements of the business partners and engage in strategic planning and partnering to ensure alignment
Deliver on financial, service, reliability, quality, innovation, and growth commitments
Strong project management skills to ensure successful implementation of complex programs that impact all sectors and functions of J&J.
Develop deep supplier relationships with strategic suppliers to include data review and analysis, performance management and development and improvement of end to end value, and bring innovation to the business
Identify, develop and direct the implementation of Procurements goals and category strategies, based on deep subject matter expertise and an informal understanding of industry/market dynamics
Escalate issues that may impact the Global Procurement organization.
Identify and lead regional sourcing projects across a wide range of HR Services sub-categories.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage supplier relationships, communicate changes to category strategy, execute joint collaborative initiatives, and monitor supplier contract negotiations (35%)
Ensure execution of category strategies to include: sourcing strategy execution, negotiations, contract implementation and performance against established targets (25%)
Develop and execute Procurement strategies that are aligned with the business/sector needs (15%)
Facilitate the development, implementation, and maintenance of processes, policies, guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures, and Business Operating Principles (15%)
Lead team meetings and provide updates to Global Procurement Leadership (5%)
Manage & prioritize portfolio of Procurement segment (JJIM, Med Tech) specific initiatives (5%)
Qualifications:
Education:
A minimum of a Bachelors or equivalent University degree is required. Masters or Advanced degree preferred.
Required:
A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience.
Strong business acumen - Understanding challenges through the eyes of business leaders
Influencing skills - Able to persuade others to change behavior in pursuit of a common goal
Strong leadership and collaboration skills at the senior executive level, as well as with peers
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently present complex information to senior executives
Broad-based understanding of core procurement areas of focus including spend management, source-to-pay
Strong project and change management capabilities
Proven learning agility, improving both yourself and the people around you
Demonstrated understanding of AI concepts and frameworks, including awareness of responsible and ethical AI practices, and experience generating effective prompts to boost efficiency and productivity.
Preferred:
Preferred experience in Life Sciences, Med Technology or Supply Chain
Demonstrated agile behaviors
High level of credibility with internal customers, and with the supplier community, based on broad experience
Proven track record in cross-functional teams and implementing significant change programs
Multi-category experience with experience across geographies of varied sizes and businesses
Flexibility and willingness to respond to changes in the external environment
