Loss Prevention Controller

Main Purpose:

The Loss Prevention Controller safeguards Bayer employees, the Kabwe seed plant, assets, products and operations in support of Bayer's mission "Health for all, Hunger for none."

The role ensures site security through regular patrols, video surveillance monitoring and first response to incidents, and manages access control for employees, contractors, visitors and vehicles.

It also oversees and verifies seed inventory movement from the plant to the storage warehouse to prevent losses.

The controller identifies and reports security risks and incidents, supports mitigation measures and compliance with Corporate Global Security requirements, and helps maintain Bayer's License to Operate in Zambia.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Implement Corporate Global Security requirements and site-specific security guidelines, procedures and protocols at the seed plant.

Conduct routine patrols and physical inspections of the seed plant premises, maintaining a visible and professional security presence.

Monitor video surveillance systems, where available, to identify and prevent potential security threats.

Serve as first responder to on-site security incidents, alarms or emergencies, and support crisis escalation, response and lessons learned.

Oversee access control, ensuring only authorized employees, contractors, visitors and vehicles enter or exit the site.

Manage and verify seed inventory leaving the plant for the storage warehouse; ensure dispatches are documented, authorized and match shipment records.

Work with logistics and warehouse teams to prevent losses and discrepancies, and maintain accurate records of inventory movement and incidents.

Identify security threats to employees, assets, products and operations, and support site security risk assessments and practical mitigation measures.

Report all security observations and incidents promptly and accurately, including through Bayer's dedicated incident reporting channels.

Coordinate the daily deployment and performance of the contracted guarding provider (G4S) in line with human rights and contracted security force expectations.

Liaise with the Zambia Police Service and local authorities on security incidents, investigations and community security matters.

Support security onboarding, briefings and awareness for employees, contractors and visitors; participate in training, drills and audits.

Support site management in implementing loss prevention strategies and improvements.

Qualifications & Competencies:

A minimum of a university undergraduate degree in business or logistics.

Relevant experience in security operations, loss prevention, law enforcement, military or private security.

Knowledge of physical security, access control, incident management and security reporting.

Understanding of the Zambian security environment and ability to work with local authorities and service providers.

Excellent planning and organization skills

Strong judgement and decision-making skills

Networking and relationship management skills

Results orientation

High integrity, discretion and sound judgment in handling confidential information.
