Insight and Analytics Lead partners with Therapeutic Area (TA) leadership to deepen understanding of business and market dynamics. By combining qualitative insights with quantitative analytics, this role drives strategic decision-making and ensures alignment with franchise objectives throughout the brand lifecycle.

This role is responsible for leading projects or cross functional teams in the design and delivery of insights, data analytics and visualization solutions that address complex business challenges. The position requires translating stakeholder needs into actionable insight and data strategies, fostering effective communication, and building collaborative relationships across functional areas.

The successful candidate will connect evidence, analytics and business judgment to influence decisions across commercial, medical, market access, finance, supply, patient support and regional or global teams. The role is expected not only to produce analysis, but also to ensure that insights are understood, adopted and translated into measurable business actions.

What you’ll do:

Strategic Insights

Lead and establish the annual insights plan, informing brand strategy and therapeutic area decisions through primary market research, patient journey mapping, competitive intelligence, and voice of customer analysis

Lead development of the annual Fact Book to support strategic planning and performance evaluation

Guide forecasting processes by advancing insights into commercial assumptions and market dynamics

Lead the brand insights process end-to-end, including budget oversight and vendor partnerships, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality research that illuminates market opportunities

Shape strategies with Regional and Global stakeholders to leverage resources and deliver strategic milestones

Lead insight generation across the brand lifecycle, including pre-launch planning, launch readiness, post-launch performance, indication expansion, market shaping and lifecycle optimization.

Data Analytics and Performance Management

Conduct rigorous quantitative analyses on patient data to uncover business opportunities and generate actionable insights

Lead ad-hoc analyses including data visualizations that translate complex information into clear strategic recommendations

Lead cross-functional workshops to align KPIs, metrics definitions, and reporting standards

Collaborate with Data Capabilities and IT teams to shape and prioritize critical reporting that supports strategic priorities

Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies (including AI) to enhance analytical capabilities and competitive advantage

Apply appropriate analytical methods such as market sizing, patient-flow analysis, treatment-pathway analysis, segmentation, forecasting, scenario modelling, predictive analytics and opportunity prioritization.

Essential Qualifications/ Experience:

Minimum 6 years in insights and data analytics within pharmaceuticals, healthcare, life sciences, or management consulting

Bachelor's in business, management, analytics or Sciences degree required

Proven experience designing and managing primary market research

Strong proficiency with analytical tools (R, Python) and visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau)

Deep knowledge of Canadian pharma data sources including IQVIA, EMR, claims data, TSA/TCR, CompuScript, Xponent, and CD&H

Experience in rare disease commercial landscape preferred

Advanced quantitative modeling skills with ability to apply frameworks that drive business decisions

Analytical mindset with demonstrated ability to generate insights from complex data and communicate findings clearly to executive audiences

Strong collaboration skills with ability to influence without direct authority and build consensus across departments and levels

Excellent project management capabilities to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously in a dynamic environment

Learning agility and intellectual curiosity to challenge assumptions and drive continuous improvement

Passion for enabling business success through high-quality insights and analytics that deliver measurable commercial impact

Desired Qualifications:

Master’s degree in business, management, marketing, health economics, epidemiology, biostatistics, data science, analytics, life sciences, or a related discipline strongly preferred.

Experience in rare disease, specialty pharmaceuticals, orphan drug, or other complex healthcare markets.

Experience supporting product launches, launch readiness, indication expansion, market shaping, or brand lifecycle planning.

Strong understanding of the Canadian healthcare and pharmaceutical environment, including public and private reimbursement, provincial access differences, CADTH and INESSS processes, specialty distribution, and patient support programs.

Experience integrating claims, EMR, prescription, sales, patient support, market research, and other healthcare data sources to generate a holistic view of patient and business dynamics.

Experience applying advanced methods such as forecasting, scenario modeling, patient-flow analysis, market sizing, segmentation, predictive analytics, or treatment pathway analysis.

Annual base salary for this position ranges from 142,311.20 to 186,783.45. AstraZeneca is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities to all colleagues. Our compensation policies and practices have been designed to allow colleagues to progress through the salary range over time as they progress in their role. The range provided in this posting represents an offer pay range used in a majority of situations. The base pay offered will vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, and other specific business and organizational needs.  In some cases, offers outside the range may also be considered to address unique circumstances.

In addition, our permanent positions offer an annual Variable Pay Bonus/Short Term Incentive opportunity as well as eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (if applicable to role).  Benefits offered for permanent roles include a competitive Flex Benefits & Retirement Savings Program, 4 weeks’ paid vacation, and annual Personal Days. Fixed Term Contract/Temporary positions (excluding students) are offered a Contract Benefits Program.
