Own the global control tower for inventory optimization and short-term supply assurance, providing end-to-end visibility of excess inventory, supply risks, and operational constraints across Raw Materials, WIP, and Finished Goods. Drive proactive actions that reduce working capital, improve inventory productivity, mitigate network risks, and protect patient supply through the 0–6 month planning horizon.
Key Accountabilities
Global Inventory Optimization
Own the global visibility of inventory positions across Raw Materials, WIP, and Finished Goods.
Identify and quantify excess, obsolete, slow-moving, and at-risk inventory.
Drive inventory reduction opportunities and inventory redeployment strategies across sites and regions.
Partner with Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Commercial teams to develop corrective action plans.
Monitor inventory health metrics including DIO, safety stock adherence, inventory aging, write-off exposure, and working capital performance.
Facilitate decisions that balance service, cost, and inventory objectives.
Supply Risk & Constraint Management (0–6 Months)
Establish and maintain a consolidated view of network-wide supply risks and constraints.
Monitor critical materials, manufacturing capacity, yield challenges, supply disruptions, and logistics constraints.
Quantify business impact and patient supply risk associated with identified issues.
Ensure robust mitigation and recovery plans are developed, tracked, and escalated.
Lead risk reviews and facilitate cross-functional trade-off decisions.
Provide early warning signals to IBP and Senior Leadership teams.
Network Orchestration & Governance
Serve as the central coordination point between Global Planning, Sites, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, Finance, and Commercial organizations.
Standardize risk identification, escalation, and resolution processes across the network.
Drive governance forums focused on inventory optimization, supply risk management, and constraint resolution.
Coordinate cross-site inventory balancing and supply recovery actions.
Ensure accountability for mitigation plans and inventory reduction commitments.
IBP & Executive Decision Support
Provide consolidated inventory, constraint, and supply risk insights into the IBP cycle.
Develop executive-level dashboards highlighting: Excess inventory opportunities
Inventory aging and write-off risks
Critical material shortages
Capacity constraints
Product availability risks
Mitigation progress
Facilitate scenario analysis and trade-off discussions to support informed decision-making.
Support Executive IBP and Supply Review meetings with actionable recommendations.
Analytics & Continuous Improvement
Develop and maintain a global inventory and risk-control tower capability.
Drive adoption of predictive analytics and AI-based risk monitoring.
Identify systemic causes of excess inventory and recurring supply constraints.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve inventory productivity, service levels, and supply reliability.
Establish KPIs and leading indicators to monitor network performance.
