About the role
The Senior Director, Dravet Syndrome Lifecycle Strategy Lead will work across R&D, regulatory, medical affairs, commercial, value and access, patient advocacy, corporate affairs, manufacturing, device, finance, legal and regional teams . The role will operate with senior leaders across key functions and directly support alignment with Stoke on how Biogen remains competitive in the Dravet space while advancing a patient-centered, evidence-based and commercially compelling lifecycle strategy.
What You’ll Do
Lead the process and deliver a comprehensive global lifecycle strategy for zorevunersen, including development options, evidence generation, future indications or populations, formulations, delivery solutions and other drivers of near- and longer-term growth.
Partner closely with Stoke Therapeutics and Alliance Management to align on how Biogen and Stoke preserve and extend competitiveness in Dravet syndrome, including differentiation, evidence strategy, product profile, patient experience, market shaping and lifecycle priorities.
Lead a forward-looking competitive strategy for Dravet syndrome, translating competitor milestones, scientific developments, stakeholder expectations and future market scenarios into clear recommendations for and senior governance.
Act as the Dravet LCM lead with the Implantable Device Unit for ThecaFlex-related planning, ensuring alignment across patient need, target product profile, evidence requirements, regulatory pathways, operational readiness, investment , commercial value and go to market.
Lead Launch Planning for Thecaflex in relation to Zorevunersen so ensure we maximize value for patients and physicians.
Work closely with Development, Medical, Value and Access, Regulatory, Commercial and regional teams to define key data gaps and develop an integrated evidence generation plan that supports durable disease-modifying value and lifecycle differentiation.
Develop compelling business cases and engage cross-functional experts to build recommendations for endorsement, including scenarios, investment choices, trade-offs, risks, dependencies and expected enterprise impact.
Drive the Disease Area Strategic Plan, long-range forecast and multi-year roadmap for zorevunersen, linking patient value, product differentiation, R&D choices, access, launch readiness and operational execution.
Establish clear operating rhythms, decision logs, success measures and escalation paths across lifecycle priorities, enabling senior leaders to make timely, well-informed decisions.
Who You Are
You are a senior enterprise leader and strategic thinker with the energy, judgment and vision to succeed in a fast-paced and highly complex environment. You are passionate about driving meaningful change for patients with rare diseases and are comfortable shaping strategy across science, development, commercialization and external partnership. Based on your strong expertise in R&D, commercial strategy, portfolio strategy, business development or corporate strategy, you can lead through influence, guide senior stakeholders and turn ambiguity into clear choices and executable plans.
Minimum Qualifications:
Advanced degree in life sciences, medicine, pharmacy, business or a related field preferred; strong scientific or clinical understanding highly desirable.
Required Skills
Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, navigate ambiguity and deliver results in a complex global matrix.
Typically 12+ years of experience in pharma, biotech or consulting, including significant leadership in product strategy, development, commercialization, lifecycle management or portfolio strategy; rare disease experience strongly preferred.
Advanced degree in life sciences, medicine, pharmacy, business or a related field preferred; strong scientific or clinical understanding highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of clinical development, regulatory engagement, launch readiness, evidence generation and lifecycle planning.
Proven ability to build robust LCM strategies and business cases that support asset growth, competitive differentiation and long-term enterprise value.
Experience working with external partners or alliance governance, with the ability to align, challenge constructively and convert strategic divergence into decision-ready options.
Strong scientific, competitive and market understanding, with ability to extract insights for strategy, R&D choices and senior governance recommendations.
Advanced financial and strategic-planning capabilities, including ability to frame investment needs, trade-offs, risks, dependencies and expected impact.
Exceptional communication, executive presence and cross-functional orchestration skills.
