Job Description:

Shape and lead Procurement's digital and AI strategy, translating business priorities into scalable capabilities and measurable value. Serve as the strategic connector across Procurement, Global Process Owners (GPOs), JJT, data teams, and partners, aligning requirements, experience, delivery, adoption, and value realization.

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Director, AI & Digital Solutions Capabilities based in Bengaluru, India. The role will define and lead Procurement's enterprise digital and AI transformation agenda, including strategic portfolio choices, agentic AI ambition, future-state capabilities, operating model, adoption, and workforce transformation. The leader will keep business impact at the center, shape enterprise-wide choices, and ensure investments form a coherent, scalable, secure, and human-centered capability ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

·       Procurement digital and AI strategy: Set the vision and strategic direction for how digital, data, and AI will reshape Procurement. Translate enterprise and business priorities into a coherent multi-year transformation agenda, future-state capability roadmap, and differentiated value proposition.

·       AI transformation and value agenda: Own the AI-enabled transformation thesis and identify the few enterprise big bets capable of materially improving cash flow, savings, productivity, decision quality, resilience, compliance, and stakeholder experience. Define value cases, success measures, and mechanisms for sustained value realization.

·       Agentic AI and future-state capability ecosystem: Define Procurement's ambition and roadmap for agentic and multi-agent AI, including target operating models, human and agent accountabilities, orchestration principles, responsible scale, and increasingly autonomous workflows. Ensure platforms, intelligent products, AI-ready data, reusable services, and experiences form a connected ecosystem.

·       Enterprise alignment and operating model: Serve as the senior strategic integrator across Procurement, GPOs, JJT, data teams, enterprise AI teams, and partners. Align business strategy, process ownership, requirements, architecture, delivery roadmaps, governance, decision rights, and accountabilities into one executable enterprise agenda.

·       Strategic portfolio and investment governance: Shape and govern the portfolio of digital and AI investments, including prioritization principles, sequencing, funding choices, enterprise dependencies, and trade-offs. Concentrate resources on scalable capabilities and stop, redirect, or consolidate lower-value and fragmented activity.

·       Experience, adoption, and workforce transformation: Define the enterprise strategy for experience, adoption, and organizational readiness. Shape persona journeys, communications, learning, feedback, behavior change, and the evolution of Procurement roles, skills, and ways of working so that AI capabilities achieve sustained adoption and business impact.

·       External innovation and strategic partnerships: Build an outside-in innovation ecosystem across suppliers, startups, technology partners, and enterprise teams. Anticipate market and technology shifts, translate emerging possibilities into pragmatic strategic choices, and accelerate differentiated capabilities through partnerships and reuse.

·       Executive influence and organizational leadership: Advise senior leaders on strategic opportunities, investment choices, trade-offs, dependencies, and risks. Build alignment around difficult decisions, create a compelling transformation narrative, and lead multidisciplinary teams with enterprise thinking, inclusion, accountability, and innovation.

Key Outcomes

·       A distinctive Procurement digital and AI ambition translated into an enterprise-backed multi-year transformation roadmap.

·       A concentrated investment portfolio built around high-value big bets, clear trade-offs, and measurable enterprise outcomes.

·       A future-state agentic operating model connecting people, data, platforms, workflows, governance, and decisions.

·       Enterprise alignment across Procurement, GPOs, JJT, data teams, and partners on priorities, accountabilities, and sequencing.

·       A future-ready Procurement organization with sustained adoption, transformed ways of working, and realized business value.

Education

·       Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Technology, Engineering, Data, Analytics, or a related field.

·       Preferred: MBA or other relevant advanced degree.

Experience and Skills

Mandatory:

·       12-15 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Digital, Technology, Product Management, Data, Analytics, AI, or a related function, including at least 5 years in people leadership.

·       Experience shaping and executing enterprise digital, AI, or technology-enabled business transformation in a complex global matrix.

·       Demonstrated ability to connect strategy, business requirements, process transformation, technology delivery, adoption, and measurable value realization.

·       Strong understanding of AI, generative AI, agentic AI, intelligent automation, digital products, data foundations, and platform ecosystems.

·       Experience managing product portfolios from ideation and proof of concept through production, scale, adoption, and lifecycle management.

·       Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, align competing priorities, facilitate decisions, and build trusted partnerships without direct authority.

·       Strong change leadership, communication, facilitation, storytelling, and capability-building skills across diverse user groups.

·       Business-value mindset with the ability to define outcomes, KPIs, value cases, adoption measures, and portfolio trade-offs.

·       Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across geographies and organizational boundaries.

·       Ability to simplify complexity, operate with ambiguity, and deliver outcomes in a rapidly evolving technology landscape.

Preferred:

·       Knowledge of Source-to-Pay process and procurement operations.

·       Experience with AI assistants, multi-agent architecture, orchestration, conversational experiences, SaaS-embedded AI, and enterprise AI governance.

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
