Your Role:
EMD Serono is hiring a Digital Communications Manager. In this role you will own two connected capabilities: the corporate website and social media. The role sits within the Company’s Healthcare Global Social Media & External Positioning Team working closely with all communications colleagues as well as commercial and medical teams.
Responsibilities:
US Channel & Website Ownership - Serve as the day-to-day owner of EMD Serono's US social media channels and the Company’s Healthcare's corporate website, ensuring content is current, compliant, and aligned with global brand standards.
AEO & LLM Visibility Strategy - Execute the Company’s Healthcare's Answer Engine Optimization strategy, owning the approach to how the brand is cited, represented, and discovered across AI models.
Content Creation & Campaign Execution - Develop social and digital content for global and US channels, execute campaigns end-to-end, manage community engagement, and support the localization of digital communications initiatives across therapeutic areas.
Performance Analysis & Reporting - Track and analyze social media, website, and LLM performance metrics, translating data into actionable insights and regular reporting to assess campaign effectiveness and inform future strategy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with Communications, Commercial, Medical, and MLR teams to ensure content is strategically aligned, compliantly approved, and delivered on time across all channels.
Digital Landscape Research & Innovation - Stay current on developments in digital communications, AI search and platform evolution, proactively bringing recommendations and test-and-learn proposals to the team.
Governance & Compliance - Ensure all content and channel activity adheres to the Company’s Social guidelines, MLR approval processes, platform policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Agency & Vendor Coordination - Manage day-to-day relationships with creative, content, and digital agency partners, briefing work, reviewing outputs, and ensuring delivery is on brief, on brand, and on schedule.
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Media, Communications, Marketing, Business or other discipline
2+ years of experience in digital communications at a healthcare or life sciences communications agency
Preferred Qualifications:
Fluency in a language other than English
Demonstrable experience managing or contributing to corporate websites, content updates, SEO basics, CMS platforms
Hands-on experience with social media management and content creation across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and/or YouTube
Familiarity with paid social campaign execution and performance reporting
Exposure to regulated industries (pharma, healthcare, financial services) and an understanding of compliance-led content workflows
Strong written communication skills, you can translate complex scientific or corporate content into clear, engaging, audience-appropriate language
Analytically minded, comfortable working with data, interpreting performance metrics, and making evidence-based recommendations
Curious about AI and emerging technology, you follow developments in generative AI, LLMs, and AI search with genuine interest
Organized and process-driven, you can manage multiple workstreams, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously
Collaborative by nature, you work well across functions and are comfortable navigating complex organizations
Proactive and self-starting, you bring ideas and solutions, not just questions
Familiarity with social media management platforms (Sprinklr experience is a plus)
Basic knowledge of CMS platforms and basic web content management
Experience with or strong interest in AI search tools and GEO/AEO concepts
Pay Range for this position: $85,400 – $128,000
The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
