About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic medical leader to join GSK as Country Medical Director, Australia. Reporting to the APAC Medical Leadership Team and serving as a key member of the Australian Executive Team, you will provide overall leadership for Medical Affairs in Australia, shaping strategy, driving scientific engagement and ensuring the highest standards of medical governance and patient focus.

This role offers the opportunity to influence business strategy, build trusted external partnerships and lead a talented team supporting some of Australia's most important therapeutic areas.

Your role will include:

Leading the Australian Medical Directorate across multiple therapy areas and medical functions

Shaping and executing the medical strategy to support launches, lifecycle management and improved patient outcomes

Providing medical leadership and governance across Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, Medical Information and Patient Safety

Building strong relationships with healthcare professionals, external experts, government and industry stakeholders

Partnering with local, regional and global leaders to deliver business and patient impact

Developing a high-performing and inclusive team culture focused on growth, excellence and accountability

Driving operational effectiveness and continuous improvement across the Medical organisation

About You

You are an experienced pharmaceutical medical leader with a strong track record of leading complex organisations, influencing senior stakeholders and delivering impact in highly regulated environments.

You will bring:

Medical qualifications (MBBS/MD or equivalent) with significant pharmaceutical industry experience

Extensive leadership experience across Medical Affairs and related medical functions

Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing teams

Strong strategic thinking, business acumen and stakeholder engagement capabilities

Deep understanding of medical governance, compliance and patient safety requirements

Experience operating within matrixed regional and global environments

Exceptional communication and influencing skills
