Job Summary
We are seeking a talented Artwork Designer with a strong mindset for process improvements to join our team.
As an Artwork Designer, you will be responsible for creating and/or reviewing right-first-time artworks, both created manually or automatically, and providing technical support for daily execution as required. In addition, you will be supporting the Artwork team with artwork readiness by creating and/or reviewing artwork (brand) templates, design templates and review of artwork print proofs, and artwork generated by Amgen partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Artwork Design in compliance with Amgen’s Standard Operating Procedures: Design right-first-time artworks, both manually or automatically, for all Amgen products and in different stages of development (test, mock-up, masters).
Design artwork templates (design and brand templates).
Artwork Review in compliance with Amgen’s Standard Operating Procedures: Review artworks, both manually or automatically, for all Amgen products and in different stages of development (test, mock-up, masters).
Review templates: technical layout templates (TLTs), design templates, brand templates
Review Supplier Print Proofs.
Review and approve Artworks created by Amgen partners Assess non right-first-time artworks and perform root cause analysis on a subset of those artworks based on the criticality of the error.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate feedback and revisions into design iterations, as needed.
Provide technical support to the artwork team and Amgen’s outsource service providers.
Collaborate with printer suppliers to ensure their technical requirements are met and incorporated into our artworks to ensure print readiness with the highest quality standards.
Represent artwork team and contribute to cross-functional projects, as needed.
Provide input to optimize artwork processes, and support continuous process and quality improvements.
Participate in team meetings.
Basic Qualifications: Master’s degree in graphic design, fine arts, or related field

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design & 2-4 years of Packaging/Labeling experience in a GMP environment.
Proven experience as an Artwork Designer in a highly regulated industry / cGMP pharmaceutical industry.
Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant tools.
Solid understanding of design and packaging principles.
Experience with print production processes and knowledge of prepress requirements.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Arts, Packaging or Life Sciences.
2 + years Packaging /Labeling experience with a focus on artwork creation.
2 + years of relevant work experience in a highly regulated industry / cGMP pharmaceutical industry.
Experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Power Point), visual tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, Google Charts), and Document Management System (e.g VEEVA vault).
Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to present and articulate design concepts effectively.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
