Our Team

The PDS Fusion Lab is a business-embedded team of five within the Product Development & Supply (PDS) organization. Each team member owns one of five priority aim points (Cash-Flow Optimization, Revenue Acceleration, Zero Disruptions, Decision Velocity, and Patient Reliability) and develops digital product prototypes that address high-value business problems. Every prototype is linked to a value-capture target in the FY27–29 plan. Validated prototypes are transitioned to BI&T for production and scale. The team reports into the business and uses AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery.

Position Summary

The Rapid Digital Solutions Manager is a hands-on senior individual contributor who owns one of the Fusion Lab's aim points and delivers working digital product prototypes on an approximately four-week cycle. The role spans the full prototype lifecycle: business discovery and problem framing, data preparation, model development, application build, validation with users, and handoff to BI&T for scale.

The ideal candidate combines a strong data science and technical foundation with product management capability and business acumen, and is comfortable operating independently with senior stakeholders. You direct AI-assisted development to move fast, and you set the bar for the quality of what it produces.

Key Responsibilities & Major Duties

End-to-End Prototype Delivery

Own end to end prototyping for work items linked to business priorities (Aim Points)

Bring business discovery, digital solutions, AI ML and Data science together to deliver business ready prototypes as part of the Fusion Labs

Discovery & Business Analysis

Conduct discovery with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and product development stakeholders to define the problem, target users, KPIs, and value at stake.

Frame ambiguous problems, map current- and future-state processes, and translate them into requirements and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.

Assess data readiness and technical feasibility with BI&T (technology team) for smooth handoff

Data Science & AI Development

Source, connect, and transform operational data from enterprise systems such as ERP, MES, LIMS, planning, and quality systems, etc and unstructured data sources

Build and validate machine-learning models: feature engineering, model selection, training, evaluation, and performance monitoring.

Develop analytical and GenAI/LLM solutions including forecasting, optimization, classification, NLP, simulation, RAG, and agentic workflows.

Direct AI-assisted (agentic) development to accelerate the build, and apply engineering judgment to review, debug, test, and harden the resulting code.

Own responsible-AI, data-privacy, and model-governance decisions for the aim point's prototypes, and document assumptions, limitations, and controls.

Product Build & Handoff

Design simple, usable interfaces and build working application front ends (e.g., Streamlit, React, or low-code platforms).

Test usability and business value with real users through rapid iteration; recommend discontinuing prototypes that do not demonstrate value.

Prepare the Scale Gate evidence pack (validated model, quantified impact, controls) and transition prototypes to BI&T for productionization; support adoption and report value realized.

Work within GxP and data-integrity (ALCOA+) expectations when handling regulated data.

Stakeholder Management & Mentoring

Manage senior business sponsors and PDS stakeholders; serve as the primary BI&T interface for the aim point.

Mentor the Lab's specialists and contribute reusable components and practices across the team.

Qualifications / Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.

Experience & Skills Required

6–10 years of experience across data science, machine learning, and digital product delivery, including taking products or prototypes from concept to working software.

Strong proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with ML frameworks (scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyTorch, or similar) and sound statistical foundations.

Ability to build data connections and transformations and model data for analysis across sources such as ERP, MES, LIMS, and quality systems & also work with unstructured data sources

Hands-on experience with GenAI/LLM technologies, including prompt engineering and RAG architectures.

Fluency with AI-assisted / agentic development tools, and the software engineering judgment to review, debug, test, and harden AI-generated code (version control, testing, secure-coding basics).

Business analysis skills: framing ambiguous problems, current- and future-state process mapping, and writing requirements and user stories with acceptance criteria.

Ability to build application front ends rapidly (Streamlit, React, or low-code platforms) with a sense for usable design and user testing.

Working knowledge of responsible-AI, data-privacy, and model-governance practices.

Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Databricks, or equivalent); proficiency with Git and Agile working practices.

Demonstrated business acumen, including the ability to size opportunities financially, define KPIs, and make build or stop recommendations with senior stakeholders.

Product-management capability: own the aim point's prototype roadmap and backlog, prioritize by value, and align stakeholders.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

Experience in the life sciences or pharmaceutical industry, particularly in manufacturing, supply chain, quality, or product development.

Familiarity with GxP and regulated-environment requirements for data and models.

Experience with dbt, orchestration tools (Airflow, Step Functions), and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI).

Prior product management experience.

How we calculate "similar"

No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.

Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.

Unmatched or unknown dimensions score exactly the same: 0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
