The Specialist in Market Research and Competitive Intelligence will provide deliverables that support planning and decision-making across multiple functional areas, such as finance, manufacturing, product development, and commercial. This role ensures high-quality deliverables, drives synergies across franchises, fosters innovation, and creates scalable, shareable solutions.

Key responsibilities:

 

Manager of Data & Process Management serves as a key subject matter expert, driving technical innovation and operational excellence within the Business Unit. This role combines deep technical knowledge with operational support to optimize data processes, enhance analytical workflows, and boost team productivity. The Manager works closely with Team Leads and team members, maintaining quality standards and collaborating with stakeholders while ensuring alignment with departmental objectives. They focus on identifying and implementing process innovations, supporting cross-functional projects, facilitating knowledge sharing, and addressing complex technical challenges. Additionally, the Manager contributes expert insights to strategic planning, ensuring data management practices elevate the overall technical proficiency of the function while meeting business objectives.

People:

Maintain effective relationship with the end stakeholders within the allocated GBU and tasks – with an end objective to develop education and communication content as per requirement

Actively manage and develop other associates and ensure new technologies are leveraged

Initiate the contracting process and related documents within defined timelines; and

Collaborate with global stakeholders for project planning and setting up the timelines and maintaining budget

Performance:

Active Data stewardship support to the key commercial databases.

Help to provide an effective data strategy to all the other business stakeholders and process as per the business requirement.

Support in key data management activities such as developing a right data quality framework, data cataloguing, data profiling

Collaborates with Digital to enhance data access across various sources, develop tools, technology, and process to constantly improve quality and productivity

Contributing to the data literacy and access initiatives

Helping to build and drive key data solutions for the commercial business operations

Tracks team deliverables, identifying potential issues early and working with team members to resolve challenges and address stakeholder questions.

Implements analytics best practices within the team, encouraging data-driven approaches in daily work.

Supports operational efficiency by following established standards and helping team members collaborate effectively.

Process:

Support delivery of projects in terms of resourcing, coordination, quality, timeliness, efficiency, and high technical standards for deliveries made by the data management team

Support Team Leads in project delivery by providing technical expertise, quality assurance, and process optimization recommendations.

Maintain quality standards by developing technical guidelines and reviewing team outputs against defined parameters.

Assist in team growth by providing technical assessments during hiring and supporting skill development of team members.

Guide compliance adherence by offering technical expertise in implementing regulatory standards and operational controls.

Support capacity planning by providing insights on technical requirements and backup needs for various projects.

Optimize resource allocation by assessing technical complexity of tasks and recommending efficient work distribution.

Execute improvement initiatives by implementing technical solutions that align with operational excellence goals.

Enhance technical capabilities by identifying and implementing new tools and processes that boost productivity.

Identify technical efficiencies across projects and teams, providing solutions for common technical challenges.

Provide technical guidance in data analysis and reporting, ensuring high-quality deliverables across projects.

Contribute to overall quality enhancement by ensuring high scientific standards for the output produced by the medical/ field writing group; and

Secure adherence to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls in accordance with all applicable standards

Refresh report on frequency/cycle basis (weekly/monthly/quarterly/annually), along with QC checks for each refresh

Stakeholder:

Cultivate relationships with immediate business partners to understand their specific data requirements and align team deliverables with departmental goals.

Communicate effectively by presenting analytical findings to stakeholders in clear, understandable formats that support informed decision-making.

Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (such as Brand Teams and Customer Facing teams) to ensure analytics outputs meet project needs and deliver practical value.

Manage expectations by coordinating project timelines, setting realistic deliverable goals, and communicating resource needs to supervisors.

Maintain ongoing engagement through regular communication with key stakeholders, focusing on those directly involved in current projects and team objectives.

About you

Experience:6+ years of experience in pharmaceutical product commercial omni channel datasets, data governance and data stewardship. In-depth knowledge of common databases like IQVIA - APLD, LAAD, DDD, Xponent, SD, SP, Customer data etc.

Soft skills: Strong learning agility; Ability to manage ambiguous environments, and to adapt to changing needs of the business; Good interpersonal and communication skills; strong presentation skills a must; Team player who is curious, dynamic, result oriented and can work collaboratively; Ability to think strategically in an ambiguous environment; Ability to operate effectively in an international matrix environment, with ability to work across time zones; Demonstrated leadership and management in driving innovation and automation leveraging advanced statistical and analytical techniques

Technical skills:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

At least 6+ years direct experience with pharmaceutical sales data and data management with the emphasis on syndicated data, Specialty Pharmacy and digital/multi-channel data.

Strong technical background in AWS, Snowflake, Data Bricks, SQL, Python, Informatica etc.

Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical sales and marketing data sources (IQVIA, Veeva etc.)

Knowledge of and/or experience in pharmaceuticals sales operations; understands how data is applied in a pharmaceutical’s commercial operations context.

Ability to translate business needs into data requirement

Understands the basic principles of data management and data processing.

Understands the basic principles of data governance and date stewardship (data quality).

Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate the data management subject matter to a non-technical/unfamiliar internal customer.

Experience of using analytical tools like Power BI, Qlik sense, Tableau, Smartsheet, and Alteryx etc is a plus.

Proficient of Excel/word/PowerPoint.

Exposure & practical application of AI tools like Cortex, Claude, Cursor etc. is a plus

An aptitude for problem solving and strategic thinking and ensuring high quality data output with strong quality assurance

Ability to synthesize complex information into clear and actionable insights

Proven ability to work effectively across all levels of stakeholders and diverse functions

Solid understanding of pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, supply chain and marketing functions

Demonstrated leadership and management in driving innovation and automation leveraging advanced statistical and analytical techniques

Effectively collaborate across differing levels of management, functions and role

Strong decision-making skills, identifying key issues, developing solutions and gaining commitment

Experience working with Analytics team like Field reporting, Field Deployment and Incentive compensation is a Plus.

Experience working on Vaccines and claims data is a plus.

Education: Advanced degree in areas such as Management/Statistics/Decision Sciences/Engineering/Life Sciences/ Business Analytics or related field (e.g., PhD / MBA / Masters)

Languages: Excellent knowledge in English and strong communication skills – written and spoken
