ABOUT THE ROLE
Role Description:
The Specialist IS Automation Engineer is a key contributor to the Clinical Study Oversight & Reporting (CSOR) Team, driving the development of robust data pipelines and platforms to enable advanced analytics and decision-making. Operating within a SAFE Agile product team, this role ensures system performance, minimizes downtime through automation, and supports the creation of actionable insights from clinical trial data.
Collaborating with product owners, architects, and engineers, the Specialist IS Automation Engineer will implement and enhance CSOR team’s capabilities. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented professionals with strong technical skills, a problem-solving mindset, and a passion for advancing clinical operations through data engineering and analytics.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Internal Use Only General and Administrative
•
Collaborate with Product Owners and developers in an Agile environment to define testable requirements and embed quality early in the development lifecycle.
•
Design and build scalable test automation frameworks with reusable scripts, utilizing platforms like GitHub, GitHub Copilot, and UiPath, and languages such as Python, JavaScript, or C#.
•
Build and maintain end-to-end, API, and UI automation suites, leveraging modular, data-driven approaches to improve coverage and efficiency.
•
Develop and automate processes for proactive monitoring of applications, enabling early detection of issues and improving system reliability.
•
Integrate automated testing and monitoring into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous validation, faster feedback, and stable releases.
•
Continuously enhance QA processes, automation coverage, and system performance while effectively managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
•
Leverage AI-powered tools to enhance test automation, including intelligent test generation, self-healing scripts, and predictive defect detection.
•
Utilize AI/ML-based insights to improve monitoring, enable anomaly detection, and optimize overall system performance and quality.
•
Perform targeted manual testing where needed and support integration/ETL validation (e.g., Informatica, Mulesoft) along with data validation using reporting tools.
•
Support ongoing application maintenance, including patching, upgrades, and preventative testing, following best practices and engineering standards.
Basic Qualifications and Experience:
•
Doctorate Degree OR
•
Master’s / Bachelor's degree with 9-12 years of experience in Computer Science, IT or related field
Must-Have Skills:
•
Strong hands-on experience in test automation using tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright, with programming in Python, JavaScript, or C#
•
Experience designing and implementing automation frameworks and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
•
Exposure to RPA tools such as UiPath and automation of business workflows
•
Proficiency in API, UI, and integration testing, along with data validation using SQL and ETL workflows
•
Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) and intelligent test automation practices (self-healing, predictive testing)
•
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to debug, optimize, and ensure system reliability
Good-to-Have Skills:
•
Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) and intelligent test automation practices (self-healing, predictive testing)
•
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-based testing strategies
•
Familiarity with SQL/NOSQL database, vector database for large language models
Professional Certifications

Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP) – preferred
•
