About this opportunity

Lead the vision, strategy, architecture, engineering, and operations of the Enterprise Integration & Eventing Platform, driving API-first, event-driven, and AI-enabled capabilities that accelerate business transformation, enable enterprise interoperability, simplify the technology landscape, and deliver secure, scalable, and compliant digital services. Partner closely with business and technology stakeholders to optimize platform capabilities, drive operational excellence through automation and proactive monitoring, and ensure successful adoption through effective change management and communication.

Major Accountabilities:Lead the Integration & Eventing platform strategy and delivery, driving enterprise-scale transformation initiatives focused on automation, simplification, scalability, observability, and continuous cost optimization.Define and govern platform architecture, including capabilities, reference architectures, standards, patterns, and guidelines, ensuring alignment with enterprise, data, security, and operational requirements.Manage the platform as a product, owning roadmaps, adoption strategies, success metrics, and value realization targets to maximize platform reuse, engineering efficiency, and business outcomes.Enable enterprise-wide integration and interoperability, supporting Data Products, AI/GenAI initiatives, digital platforms, and seamless information exchange across internal and external ecosystems.Ensure high-quality, reliable platform delivery through effective release management, CI/CD, DevSecOps, software engineering, QA practices, financial management, and delivery governance.Drive engineering excellence and compliance-by-design, enforcing best practices, peer reviews, quality gates, documentation standards, business sign-offs, and automated adherence to security, privacy, data, and quality controls.Partner with business, IT, and vendor stakeholders to shape initiatives, perform fit-gap analysis, design scalable solutions, estimate effort, manage strategic partnerships, and ensure alignment with business roadmaps and architectural standards.Build platform adoption and organizational capability, leading self-service enablement, change management, executive communication, stakeholder influence, and the development of high-performing teams that continuously improve engineering standards and ways of working.Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or information technology discipline; an advanced degree and related accreditations a plus.15+ years of experience in Enterprise Data, Analytics, Integration Platforms, or SaaS solutions, with a strong track record of solution architecture, platform transformation, and delivery leadership within complex global matrix organizations.Demonstrated success leading large-scale technology transformations, with deep understanding of complex enterprise architectures, digital ecosystems, interoperability frameworks, and business process optimization across global organizations.Hands-on experience with enterprise integration and eventing technologies in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), AWS Glue, Informatica, API Management, AI Gateway, Boomi, Solace, Managed File Transfer, Data Virtualization, Change Data Capture (e.g., Fivetran), Axway, and modern integration architectures.Experience leveraging AI, Agentic AI, intelligent automation, and Agent Core Gateway capabilities to streamline integration delivery, enhance platform operations, improve observability, and accelerate onboarding and developer productivity.Why Novartis?Our purpose is to reimagine medicine to improve and extend people’s lives and our vision is to become the most valued and trusted medicines company in the world.
