The Position

We are looking for a Principal System Analyst for IT Marketing & Sales Japan who will take a key role in shaping, delivering, and continuously improving technology solutions that support customer engagement, customer insights, sales, marketing, and digital transformation.

This role will act as a strong bridge between Japan business stakeholders, global IT/product teams, local IT teams, and external partners. The Principal System Analyst will understand business needs, analyze requirements, define solution approaches, and ensure that systems and applications are designed, integrated, operated, and optimized in alignment with both Japan business priorities and global IT strategies.

The role is expected to provide end-to-end ownership across the system lifecycle, from design and delivery to run, enhancement, and continuous improvement. It will also contribute to building a scalable, reliable, and future-ready IT landscape for Marketing & Sales Japan, particularly in areas such as CRM, customer engagement, data, integration, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities.

Tasks & Responsibilities

1. End-to-End System Ownership

・Take ownership of Marketing & Sales IT systems across the lifecycle: design, build, operate, optimize.

・Ensure systems are stable, reliable, scalable, and fit for business needs.

・Drive continuous improvement of applications, services, and support models.

・Support application maintenance, enhancement planning, 3rd-level support, and complex issue resolution.

2. Business Analysis & Solution Design

・Work closely with business stakeholders to understand objectives, analyze requirements, and translate them into practical and sustainable technology solutions.

・Define solution approaches that balance local business needs, global platform direction, enterprise architecture standards, and long-term sustainability.

・Evaluate business processes, data flows, system dependencies, and integration requirements to design effective end-to-end solutions.

3. Architecture & Integration Leadership

・Lead or support solution architecture design for complex Marketing & Sales platforms and related applications.

・Assess integration requirements across local and global systems, including data flows, interfaces, APIs, and platform dependencies.

・Promote scalable, modular, and future-ready architecture principles.

・Support integration strategy and ensure smooth interoperability across systems and platforms.

4. Delivery & Project Execution

・Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives from requirements definition through implementation and deployment.

・Coordinate with Japan business teams, global product organizations, IT colleagues, and external vendors to ensure quality delivery.

・Support feature validation, implementation planning, deployment strategy, and post-go-live stabilization.

・Manage priorities, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder expectations in a complex global environment.

5. Digital Innovation, Data & AI Enablement

・Contribute to digital transformation initiatives for Marketing & Sales Japan.

・Support the adoption of modern technologies such as cloud platforms, data platforms, automation, integration layers, and AI-enabled solutions.

・Help identify opportunities to improve customer engagement, business insights, operational efficiency, and decision-making through technology.

6. Stakeholder Partnership & Governance

・Act as a trusted partner for business and IT stakeholders.

・Facilitate alignment between local business requirements and global application strategies.

・Provide technology consulting to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

・Ensure solutions comply with global IT standards, architecture principles, security requirements, and relevant regulatory expectations.

Requirements

Experience & Education

・Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, or a related field.

・Minimum 5 years of experience in a large-scale and/or global business environment.

・Experience in business analysis, system analysis, solution design, system integration, or IT project delivery.

・Proven experience delivering solutions in complex, cross-functional, and multicultural environments.

・Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry is preferred.

Technical Expertise

・Strong understanding of business applications, system architecture, data flows, and integration between local and global systems.

・Experience analyzing business requirements and translating them into scalable and sustainable technology solutions.

・Solid understanding of CRM platforms and related Sales & Marketing business processes; experience with Veeva CRM and/or Vault CRM is strongly preferred.

・Knowledge of APIs, interfaces, data integration, and enterprise application landscapes.

・Exposure to cloud, data platforms, analytics, automation, or AI-related use cases is preferred.

・Familiarity with modern data and integration technologies such as Snowflake, Kafka, SnapLogic, or similar platforms is a plus.

・Strong understanding of Sales and Marketing business processes.

・Ability to identify business challenges and propose technology-driven improvements.

・Strong project management and delivery skills.

・Ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across business, IT, global teams, and vendors.
