About the Role

The Project Controls, Analytics & Bid Review will be based in AIN and will be part of the Project Controls organization within Amgen Engineering. This role will report to the Senior Manager – Capital Equipment Analytics and will support capital equipment analytics and bid review activities across global capital projects.

This role will combine project controls, analytics, reporting, and capital equipment bid review experience to improve cost visibility, supplier comparison, equipment demand insights, and decision support. The Project Controls Analytics role will help structure bid information, analyse supplier proposals, support benchmarking, and develop analytics outputs that improve project planning, equipment delivery visibility, and risk identification.

The role will also support compliance to established project controls, procurement, and reporting processes by maintaining reliable data, clear analytical assumptions, and audit-ready supporting documentation.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Support capital equipment bid review, including cost comparison, schedule / lead-time review, scope completeness, assumptions, exclusions, and risk indicators.

Normalize supplier bids into a consistent structure to support comparison of cost, scope, delivery terms, assumptions, exclusions, risks, and decision points.

Support benchmarking by comparing current bids against historical project and equipment data to identify cost trends, variance drivers, supplier differences, and forecasting inputs.

Analyse equipment demand, spend, lifecycle status, supplier performance, and delivery risk data to support project controls and leadership decision-making.

Develop reporting, analytics, and decision-support tools that improve visibility into equipment demand, spend, bid comparisons, supplier risks, delivery milestones, and lifecycle status.

Support the equipment data foundation by collecting, validating, and maintaining bid, supplier, cost, demand, schedule, delivery, and lifecycle data.

Maintain audit-ready analysis files, data records, assumptions, and supporting documentation in alignment with established project controls and procurement processes.

Use digital, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve analysis quality, reporting efficiency, data review, and insight generation.

Partner with Project Controls, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and project teams to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and align analytical outputs.

Prepare and present analysis, comparisons, insights, and recommendations to project teams and stakeholders.

Support continuous improvement of bid review templates, reporting standards, analytics methods, and data quality practices.

Basic Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent).

8–13 years of work experience in Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field.

Experience in the global pharmaceutical industry preferred.

Functional Skills

Strong project controls and analytics experience in a capital project, engineering, procurement, or estimating environment.

Experience supporting bid review, cost comparison, benchmarking, forecasting, reporting, or supplier proposal analysis.

Ability to review capital equipment bids and interpret cost, scope, schedule, assumptions, exclusions, delivery risks, and comparison points.

Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI, advanced Excel, SAP, procurement / sourcing systems, data structuring, or similar platforms.

Ability to analyse large or complex data sets and translate findings into clear insights, visuals, and recommendations.

Strong understanding of data integrity, process compliance, documentation discipline, and audit readiness in project controls, analytics, or procurement-related workflows.

Strong understanding of capital project cost, schedule, procurement, and supplier delivery information.

Ability to partner effectively with Engineering, Project Controls, Procurement, Finance, and project teams.

Good-to-Have Skills:

Experience supporting capital projects in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, or other regulated industries.

Experience working with capital equipment, supplier bids, procurement data, or equipment lifecycle information.

Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity and analytics tools such as ChatGPT, Codex, VS Code extensions, or similar tools.

Experience developing bid review templates, reporting standards, data models, or analytical tools.

Familiarity with automation, advanced analytics, data quality improvement, or scalable reporting practices.

Professional Certifications:

Relevant certification in project management, project controls, cost management, analytics, engineering, or a related discipline is recommended.

Soft Skills:

Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.

Clear communication and presentation skills.

Ability to translate complex data into practical business insights.

Strong collaboration skills across global and cross-functional teams.

Curiosity, problem-solving mindset, and willingness to adopt new tools and ways of working.
