Your new role

As Medical Affairs Manager for Cardiometabolic (CM), you will lead and develop a team of Medical Advisors while driving the scientific and medical strategy that connects Novo Nordisk's portfolio to the patients who need it most. You will serve as a strategic partner across functions, translating external insights into actionable plans and ensuring medical excellence in everything your team delivers. This position reports to the Head of Medical Affairs, and You will have directly reporting team members who are Medical Advisors in Cardiometabolic therapeutic areas, and they are instrumental in identifying and segmenting KOLs and developing engagement plans. This position is accountable for leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing Cardiometabolic Medical Affairs team through effective talent development, performance management, and employee engagement.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Medical Affairs Team Management:  Inspire and motivate team members to achieve both individual and organizational goals while supporting career development and capability building; Provide clear strategic direction and prioritization to ensure effective allocation of resources and delivery of medical objectives; Ensure the smooth operation of the CM Medical Affairs team by proper allocation of resources, budget, and task prioritization; Contribute to the timely planning and implementation of Medical Affairs strategy aligned with the business plan.

Scientific Medical Excellence and Cross-functional Collaboration: Translate external insights and evidence into actionable medical strategies that support affiliate priorities and future portfolio opportunities; Drive launch preparation and collaborate with the cross-functional team, address stakeholder evidence needs based on patient journey and market understanding; Drive the development and execution of integrated medical strategies collaborating with RMA team, based on scientific insights, patient needs, and evolving healthcare landscapes; Support real-world evidence (RWE) and Investigator Sponsored Studies (ISS) for applicable products; Lead and influence cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on strategic priorities while preserving Medical Affairs scientific integrity; Provide leadership and guidance to ensure compliant medical activities and appropriate medical governance, act as a trusted strategic partner to key functions; Influence strategic decision-making by bringing external insights, scientific perspectives, and patient-focused recommendations to the organization

KOL Engagement: Ensure timely, accurate, and balanced communication of data to the scientific and medical community; Lead the process of KOL mapping, segmentation, and engagement planning; Support partnerships with the right KOL and local associations/organizations for scientific activities aligned with Novo Nordisk's therapeutic strategies to improve patient outcomes; Design, Plan and implement innovative ways to gather clinical insights/needs/feedback from KOLs/customers and communicate with internal stakeholders

Medical Education: Increase awareness of Novo Nordisk products/disease areas through presentations and training sessions, in line with business strategy; Plan and execute non-promotional scientific activities including medical education programs, symposiums, speaker training, and key scientific leader programs etc; Stay updated on scientific knowledge through active participation in scientific meetings, conferences, and sharing publications.

Ethics & Compliance: Ensure compliance with Novo Nordisk principles and legal laws, protecting company interests and confidentiality of information; Act ethically in line with Novo Nordisk's vision, policies, and charter; Maintain Novo Nordisk's high profile among stakeholders by developing and maintaining strong relationships through liaison and networking.

Your skills & qualifications

We are looking for a strategic medical leader with a passion for science, team development, and patient impact. To succeed in this role, you will bring:

M.D., PhD, Pharmacist, or scientist/researcher background with solid professional medical expertise

Experience leading medical activities including KOL engagement, medical education, insight generation, and evidence-related initiatives (real-world evidence and Investigator Sponsored Studies experience is an advantage). Also the experience in cardiometabolic or other relevant chronic disease areas is preferred

Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop a high-performing medical affairs team as well as the ability to align medical strategy with business priorities while maintaining scientific integrity are important

Good understanding of local regulations, industry codes, and compliance requirements relevant to Medical Affairs activities in Korea

Fluency in English as well as excellent medical communication, stakeholder engagement, and strategic thinking skills
