Warehouse & Distribution Manager

T he Warehouse & Distribution Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for end-to-end distribution center operations, ensuring the safe, compliant, cost-effective, and efficient supply of products. This role is accountable for both day-to-day operational performance and the development and execution of operational strategies for the Warehouse & Distribution function. The role drives operational excellence, organizational capability, and continuous improvement while ensuring alignment with business, quality, and compliance objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities

Lead warehouse and distribution operations   in Japan   to ensure safe, compliant,   high- quality, and reliable product supply.

Oversee daily   warehouse and distribution   operations,   storage, shipping,   and   domestic transportation.

Develop and drive the   mid- to long-term   strategy   and capacity   planning   to support future business growth.

Lead 3PL and vendor management to build effective partnerships and strong operational performance.

Monitor KPIs and service levels, and drive actions to improve quality, service, cost, and productivity.

Manage budgets, cost performance, and financial planning for warehouse and distribution activities.

Lead cost improvement and productivity initiatives across warehousing and domestic transportation.

Ensure compliance with safety, quality, regulatory   requirements , and   company   standards.

Promote a safe working environment and drive continuous improvement in warehouse safety practices.

Identify operational risks and   strengthen   business continuity   through effective mitigation plans .

Develop and maintain effective procedures, work instructions, and operational standards.

Drive continuous improvement, process optimization, and innovation across warehouse and distribution processes.

Stay informed of new technologies, industry trends, and best practices to strengthen distribution capabilities.

Partner with commercial, supply chain,   quality,   regional, and global stakeholders to align distribution priorities with business strategy.

Define and drive the team strategy while leading, coaching, and developing team members to build future-ready capabilities, clear accountability, and a transformation mindset.

Experience & Qualifications

Experience

Minimum 10 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, warehousing, or distribution operations, including people leadership.

Experience managing 3PL partners and distribution operations in a regulated environment.

Experience operating in regulated, quality-driven environments such as healthcare, pharmaceutical, or medical device industries.

Strong track record in operational excellence, continuous improvement, cost management, and productivity improvement.

Experience developing distribution network, capacity, or operational improvement plans to support business growth.

Experience working with SAP or other supply chain / warehouse management systems.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in Japanese and English.

Education

Bachelor’s degree required (advanced degree preferred).
