The Position

Head of Technology Accounts and Software Asset Management

The Head of Technology Vendor Management & Software Asset Management will lead RDT’s strategic technology vendor governance and Software Asset Management practice across a complex global technology landscape.

The role covers vendors across software, SaaS, cloud, platforms, on-premise infrastructure, infrastructure services and managed services. It is accountable for creating a transparent, stable, commercially disciplined and risk-managed vendor ecosystem.

This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for a large-scale technology vendor portfolio representing several hundred million CHF in spend and a team of around a dozen professionals.

The role combines vendor governance, SAM, licensing compliance, vendor risk management, service performance, operational stability, commercial oversight and senior stakeholder engagement.

Description of the area

Technology Vendor Management & Software Asset Management ensures that RDT’s critical technology vendors operate within clear standards, controls and performance expectations.

The function owns vendor governance frameworks and the SAM operating model, covering vendor lifecycle management, service performance, risk monitoring, license compliance, spend transparency and value realization.

It partners with RDT functions, IT, Procurement, Finance, Legal, Security, Architecture and Operations to ensure technology vendor relationships are compliant, stable, cost-effective and aligned with enterprise priorities.

Job responsibilities:

Lead the Technology Vendor Management and Software Asset Management function, including strategy, operating model, standards, governance forums and team development.

Govern a high-value technology vendor ecosystem across software, SaaS, cloud, infrastructure, platform and managed service providers.

Define and implement baseline standards for technology vendor management, including SLAs, governance blueprint, escalation model, performance expectations and minimum control requirements.

Own the SAM roadmap and lifecycle governance across entitlement, deployment, usage, compliance, optimization and remediation.

Define and implement the technology vendor lifecycle model, from onboarding and classification through performance management, risk monitoring, renewal governance and exit planning.

Establish dashboards and reporting for RDT leadership covering vendor performance, SAM status, license compliance, risk exposure, operational stability and key actions.

Lead or coordinate vendor audit defense and remediation of licensing, contractual or compliance deviations.

Drive software and technology spend optimization through usage analysis, renewal governance, license harvesting, reclaim, rightsizing, contract review and demand alignment.

Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on vendor risk, software compliance, licensing exposure, operational stability and technology vendor value.

Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in Technology Vendor Management, Software Asset Management, IT Asset Management, supplier governance, software licensing, IT sourcing, technology procurement, service provider management or enterprise IT governance.

Proven experience governing large-scale technology vendor portfolios involving complex contracts, critical vendors, material spend and senior stakeholder accountability.

Strong understanding of vendor governance models, vendor lifecycle management, SLAs, performance management, escalation paths, service reviews and risk monitoring.

Strong understanding of SAM/ITAM operating models, software asset lifecycle management, entitlement management, usage visibility, license compliance and optimization controls.

Proven experience in software license compliance, vendor audit defense, remediation, true-up, renewal governance or license optimization.

Experience managing strategic technology vendors through QBRs, KPIs, risk tracking, commercial alignment and performance improvement.

Experience managing outsourced service providers, including transition, knowledge transfer, service stabilization or operational handover.

Demonstrated ability to improve transparency, operational stability, vendor accountability and service performance across critical technology providers.

Leadership experience in a team, practice, function or global/matrix environment, ideally at a comparable scale.

Strong stakeholder management skills across IT, Procurement, Finance, Legal, Security, Architecture and business leadership.

Strong advantages:

Experience with SAM/ITAM platforms such as ServiceNow SAM, Flexera, Snow Software or similar tools.

Experience with major enterprise vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, IBM, VMware, ServiceNow, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Dell, HPE, Cisco, or similar technology providers.

Experience with infrastructure vendor governance, data center vendors, hardware lifecycle, infrastructure services or hybrid IT environments.

Certifications such as CSAM, CITAM, ITIL v4 or vendor-specific licensing certifications.

Experience in regulated industries such as pharma, healthcare, financial services or other highly governed environments.

Exposure to SaaS spend management, cloud cost governance or FinOps-related practices.

Compensation & Benefits

The expected salary range for this position, based on the primary location of Warsaw Grafit is 280,000.00 PLN - 520,000.00 PLN. Final compensation will be determined by a number of factors, including your skills, experience, qualifications, and location. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus with a target of 20% subject to both individual and company performance.
