About the Role:

The Head of Evidence Generation – International will lead the development and direction of the Ipsen International   (EX US & Canada) evidence generation strategy (Phase IV, ISS, RWE)   to support Ipsen’s medical   objectives across all therapeutic areas (Oncology, Rare diseases and Neurotoxins).

This role is pivotal in shaping and delivering high-quality clinical and real-world evidence (RWE) that informs decision-making, supports access, and enhances patient outcomes.

The role requires strong leadership, scientific rigor, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment with global strategies and local market needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

Responsible for developing strategies for evidence generation (Phase IV, ISS, RWE) at International that support healthcare clinical evidence gaps and the LCM of our products

Assess the local needs and build proposal for scaling RWE capabilities (HC, resources, operating model) at International countries

Define and implement the International Evidence Generation Plan (IEGP) in alignment with global medical strategies and local evidence needs.

Provide budget input for activities related to Epidemiology and RWE studies and initiatives ensuring projects are adequately resourced

Evidence Generation Execution

Ensure that the Global IEGP is well implemented at local level and the country data gaps are well integrated in the IEGP (Global & Local) in alignment with lifecycle management (LCM) priorities

Oversee the planning, execution, and reporting of evidence generation projects (clinical studies, RWE, health outcomes research) across the region.

Ensure scientific, ethical, and regulatory standards are met in all research activities

Support country teams in project design and EGRB submission readiness

.Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Country medical directors, asset medical leads, market access, clinical operations, and HEOR to align evidence generation with business objectives

Capability Building

Lead the development of RWE capabilities at the Local/regional level, including operating models, resources, and trainings

External Engagement

Identify key research opportunities, including clinical studies,  real-world evidence projects, and health outcomes research and foster partnerships and collaborations with institutions at International

Proactively identify, evaluate, and secure access to high-quality external data sources

Qualifications:

Advanced degree in life sciences, medicine, epidemiology, or related field (MD, PharmD, PhD preferred)

Extensive experience in medical affairs, clinical research, RWE or HEOR within the pharmaceutical industry

Proven track record in leading regional or global evidence generation strategies

Experience with RWE, observational studies, and regulatory-grade data generation

Demonstrated strong leadership  and experience in designing and conducting Phase IV, pharmaco-epidemiology studies   in support of pre-/post-approval evidence generating activities;

Expert in data collection methods and strong familiarity with secondary data sources;

Experience leading external analytic and evidence generating activities;

Excellent data analytic skills, including knowledge of standard statistical software & packages (SAS, R, etc.);

Demonstrated experience in innovative and design thinking

Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a matrix and remote organizations

Exceptional critical thinking to help identify gaps, analyze findings and make recommendations while articulating next steps;

Deep understanding of international regulatory and payer evidence requirements

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

English fluency
