About the job 

Within Sanofi, the Procurement function is a powerhouse maximizing savings to fund the company’s future growth. The Chief Procurement Officer is reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, member of the Sanofi executive committee. The Procurement organization is divided into five Domains (Manufacturing & Supply, Marketing & Sales, Professional Services, Scientific & Medical and Digital) leveraging Global Procurement Operations and the Procurement Center of Excellence & Transformation. The yearly spend coverage is around 15B€ with a special focus on Procurement excellence, Supplier Diversity and Sustainability. Closely collaborating with Finance, Business Operations and Business Units, Procurement is instrumental in achieving cost efficiency and savings. Procurement plays a critical role in optimizing Business Operational Impact with a focus on driving simplification, efficiency, and productivity. It forges strategic partnerships with suppliers, prioritizing innovation and data driven solutions.

Within the Digital Domain, the Global Lead Buyer acts as a primary point of contact for the stakeholders of his/her scope, together with the procurement Business Partner he/she reports to. He/She is responsible for leading strategic sourcing initiatives such as requests for proposals, negotiations, Digital landscape optimization and simplification with a various landscape of stakeholders and suppliers for all digital categories. A significant aspect of your role will be to coach and accompany Global Buyers who will address some sourcing initiatives for your scope.  He/She is accountable for optimizing BOI and deliver best in class savings target year over year. The scope of this position is global and for all entities of Sanofi Group.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Governance 

Build & execute competitive and innovative sourcing initiative pipeline, based on spend and existing landscape analysis, market intelligence, business needs, risks and opportunities, fully aligned on budget & LRPs, delivering value to the business

Participate in the definition and implementation of category strategies in accordance with the category managers' recommendations

Operations Management

Anticipate and consolidate all business needs at the global level, to optimize negotiations at Global level

Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and negotiations with a focus on BOI improvement and in alignment with category strategies defined by the category management

Develop and share the expertise of suppliers’ markets within and outside the Domain and with stakeholders (new suppliers, technologies, substitution products, etc.)

Achieve the goals set by the Business Partner you report to

Deliver savings pipeline in line with targets

Coach Global Buyers in their sourcing strategies, negotiation tactics, market knowledge

Communicate proactively on on-going sourcing activities within and outside the Domain

Engage proactively with other Procurement Domains

Deliver robust Supplier Management with business reviews & performance management

Ensure mastery of Procurement technical excellence (TCO, SRM, Market Intel, Risk Management, Innovation, CSR, HSE, compliance, quality…)

Work closely with procurement services to leverage as much as possible the middle and back-offices services

Stakeholder Management

Engages upfront main stakeholders of Digital and selected stakeholders in other GBUs

Develops strong partnerships with his/her key stakeholders and fosters two-way supportive relationships with them

Presents Procurement strategies to key internal customers for review and input

About you   

Experience

+5 years' experience in Procurement or related field (buyer, sales, partnership, outsourcing, project manager etc.

Soft Skills/ Technical skills

The position requires sourcing professional skills with a strong ability to develop relationships within and across the different lines of business and throughout the Procurement organization, including transversal / project management skills in a multi-cultural environment.

Technical knowledge of the sub-categories/domain, Mastering Negotiation technics

Strategic thinking . Strategic and innovative approach for business solutions while in compliance with external and internal policies .

Good understanding of business, operations, and legal aspects including service level agreements, KPIs’

Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, flexible, receptive, resourceful, and creative . Results Oriented

Assertive, high-level communicator, good organizational skills, excellent presentation skills, Team player with excellent interpersonal sensitivity

Confident and capable in interacting with key stakeholders and vendors

Influential management, ability to convince and persuade others regarding appropriate solutions

Experienced and confident in managing complex and undefined business situations

Ability to work in a complex multi-functional matrix organization across functions, countries and cultures

Transversal Management skills are required for this position.

High sense of Ethics, Business integrity and compliance in doing business

Education 

Minimum Master degree from an accredited College or University

Languages

Fluent in English is a must

The salary range for this position is :€59.600,00 - €89.400,00 Final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs.
