Job Purpose
As the Global Head Strategy & Operations Specialty Care, you will play a key role in the delivery of Global Medical Specialty Care and overall Chief Patient Officer Organization objectives. The role reports directly into the TA Head Global Medical Specialty Care and partners closely with respective equivalent roles across the Product Area Lead Team (R&D and Commercial) as well as the Medical Leadership Team and other cross-functional partners. This role is designed as a senior enterprise-level development position equivalent in readiness to roles like the Global Medical Asset Lead or Country Medical Director.
This role is the primary execution and strategic business performance partner to the TA Head Global Medical Specialty Care translating strategic priorities into disciplined operational delivery across the function and its key cross-functional interfaces. The role operates with high autonomy on behalf of the Global Medical Head Specialty Care ensuring clear priorities, effective governance, and delivery against organizational goals.
Specialty Care is a key driver of GSK’s future growth, with multiple transformational launches anticipated over the next 1–3 years and a further ~20 assets expected to launch through 2034. Global Specialty Medical plays a pivotal role in maximizing the value of this portfolio by shaping evidence generation, defining and executing global medical strategies, and ensuring that scientific innovation translates into meaningful patient impact and commercial success. Working at the critical interface between R&D and commercialization, we influence target product profiles, drive lifecycle innovation, generate differentiating evidence, and prepare healthcare systems and stakeholders for successful launches across our late-stage pipeline. In partnership with regions and key markets, we ensure the optimal use and adoption of our medicines, delivering sustainable value for patients, healthcare systems, and GSK.
Expectations
Strategy Execution and Planning
Own end-to-end strategic planning cadence and execution tracking
Translate company and CPO priorities into actionable plans, KPIs/OKRs
Lead cross-functional initiatives and special projects
Operational Excellence
Remove execution barriers; optimize processes and ways of working
Ensure delivery discipline across transversal workstreams
Manage TA budget with discipline, ensuring budget adherence to +/-2%, and demonstration of clear impact
Drive continuous improvement via after action reviews
Leadership, influence and communication
Act as trusted thought partner to VP Global Medical Head Specialty Care
Proactive identification of opportunities and challenges
Lead internal communications (town halls, all hands) to ensure alignment and understanding of strategy and operational focus
Proactively work with R&D, Medical, Commercial and LOC partners to ensure achievement of TA objectives and ensure alignment.
Governance and decision enablement
Ensure clear governance, decision rights, and quality of strategic asks
Own performance reviews (QBR/MPR) pre-read and action tracking
Enable timely, well framed decisions at the right forum

Basic qualifications:
MD/MBBS/PharmD or PhD in clinical / scientific discipline related to medicine and pharmacology
Considerable experience in Medical Affairs including roles in LOCs
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English
Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects, budgets, and interactions simultaneously
Ability to thrive in a fast paced, innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient.
Outstanding listening, communication & collaborative team working and leadership skills, as the role involves interface with a wide range of stakeholders internally and externally
Demonstrated matrix leadership in previous roles with ability to build strong networks, manage complexity and cultural diversity
Evidence of alignment to GSK Values
Preferred Qualification
Global Medical leadership experience e.g. Global Medical Director, LOC TA head
Experience in leading strategy implementation and change.
High personal impact and credibility at senior LT level.
Strong people agility, influencing skills and diplomacy.
Demonstrable evidence of multi-cultural sensitivity is an asset.
Capable of working across boundaries and functional areas.
High resilience.
Creative in problem solving.
Strong business experience & demonstrated ability at making complex initiatives happen
Strategic thinker – ability to connect different elements together.
Fluent in English.
Evidence of innovative digital and AI leadership within prior roles.
T his role will ideally be based in UK or Switzerland.
Travel: up to 20% may be required.
