Position Overview
The Construction Lead (all genders) assists the Engineering Project Manager in overseeing all construction activities on our major capital investment project. This role ensures that construction works are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with GMP, HSE, and regulatory requirements.
Main responsibilities:
Support the Engineering Project Manager in supervising EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) contractors on-site; Interface with external engineering firms
Monitor contractor progress against baseline schedule; flag deviations and propose corrective actions
daily monitoring of the construction activities, ensuring alignment with approved designs and specifications
Check that the coordination of multi-disciplinary workstreams (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation) are well-done
Participate in site inspections, punch list management, and technical acceptance reviews
tracking of project milestones and construction schedules (Primavera P6 or equivalent)
Support budget tracking and cost control activities in coordination with the Project Controls team
Manage scope change requests and ensure proper documentation
Enforce HSE standards on-site in line with Sanofi's Operational Standards (M11 – Management of Changes and Capital Projects impacting HSE)
Participate in Pre-Start HSE Reviews (PSSR) and safety audits whilst ensuring traceability of HSE reviews and corrective actions throughout the project lifecycle
Ensure GMP compliance throughout construction phases for pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities
Liaise with the Project Manager, Engineering teams, Quality, HSE, and Operations stakeholders; Prepare and present construction progress reports to the Project Steering Committee
Coordinate with the Real Estate Committee for decisions on projects ≥ €15M
Maintain construction records, RFIs (Requests for Information), NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and site logs
Support the preparation of handover documentation for Commissioning, Qualification & Validation (CQV) teams
About you
Education/Experience: Masters/Diploma/PhD degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or equivalent); relevant experience and proven track record in construction management on large industrial or pharmaceutical capital projects
Soft and technical skills: Familiarity with GMP environments, EPC/EPCM contracts, and pharmaceutical manufacturing standards; PMP, IPMA, or equivalent project management certification preferred; skilled at influencing and gaining buy-in across diverse stakeholder groups without direct reporting line; highly collaborative, detail-oriented, and resilient in dynamic project environments
Languages: proficiency in english and german required

The salary range for this position is :€101.040,00 - €134.720 Final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs.
