Job Description:

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for an Assistant Manager Professional Education   located   in Mumbai, India.

Assistant Manager / Manager, Professional Education to lead the development and execution of Professional Education (ProfEd) initiatives for the CMF and MITEK portfolio in India.

This role is responsible for designing innovative surgeon education strategies, building learning pathways, developing faculty networks, managing advanced training facilities, and driving digital and cadaveric education. The position will collaborate closely with Business Units, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Compliance, Legal, Government Affairs, Marketing, Sales, and global Professional Education teams to ensure the safe and effective adoption of DePuy Synthes technologies and procedures.

The role will be instrumental in expanding surgeon capability through Centres of Excellence, Skills Labs, digital education platforms, cadaveric training programmes, and international knowledge exchange initiatives while ensuring full alignment with Johnson & Johnson Credo, HCC requirements, and applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Professional Education Strategy & Implementation (40%)

Develop and execute Professional Education strategies for the CMF and MITEK portfolio.

Design comprehensive learning pathways for surgeons across experience levels.

Drive educational initiatives that support the safe and effective use of DePuy Synthes products and procedures.

Develop education strategies for New Product Introductions (NPIs) and procedural innovations.

Monitor programme effectiveness, educational outcomes, and business impact through defined metrics and dashboards.

Course Development & Faculty Engagement (15%)

Design and develop customised educational programmes in collaboration with KOLs, faculty members, and Business Units.

Identify, recruit, onboard, and develop national and international faculty networks.

Develop scientific content, educational resources, faculty presentations, and procedural training curriculum.

Create operating guidelines, course brochures, learning materials, and programme toolkits.

Support faculty development programmes, train-the-trainer initiatives, and leadership academies.

Global Collaboration for Surgeon Education

Partner with ASPAC, EMEA, and US Professional Education teams to identify leading Centres of Excellence (COEs) and facilitate surgeon training programmes.

Enable global knowledge exchange initiatives and international faculty participation.

Support surgeon observerships, fellowships, and advanced procedural training opportunities through global partnerships.

International Training Programmes

Work closely with Government Affairs, Compliance, Legal, and Business Unit teams to develop business cases and obtain approvals for international training initiatives.

Facilitate surgeon observerships, fellowships, and advanced educational programmes.

Ensure compliance with internal policies, local regulations, and industry guidelines.

Skills Lab & Cadaveric Education Management (15%)

Management of Skills Labs Across India

Lead DePuy Synthes collaborations with institutions including SaiShree, CMC Vellore, AIIMS, and other leading teaching hospitals.

Develop annual educational calendars, curriculum, programme content, and faculty engagement plans.

Partner with Compliance and Legal teams to ensure programme governance and operational excellence.

Drive utilisation and expansion of Skills Lab programmes across India.

Management of MS Ramaiah Advanced Learning Centre

Lead operations and educational planning for the dedicated cadaveric training facility at MS Ramaiah Advanced Learning Centre, Bengaluru.

Support the strategic objective of scaling cadaveric education and training more than 1,000 surgeons annually.

Ensure year-round programme execution, faculty engagement, facility utilisation, and operational excellence.

Centre of Excellence Development

Develop and expand Centres of Excellence for CMF and MITEK education.

Create structured educational pathways that support surgeon competency development and procedural excellence.

Digital Education & Innovation (10%)

Drive adoption of innovative educational technologies including: Virtual Reality (VR)

Partner with Regional and Global Digital Education teams on content creation and deployment.

Lead the implementation of advanced procedural simulation programmes, including Alex Model and other innovative education platforms.

Collaborate with Digital and IT teams to establish a dedicated DePuy Synthes Professional Education platform.

Ensure visibility of educational programmes, learning resources, faculty content, and surgeon development opportunities.

Drive continuous improvement of digital learning experiences and learner engagement.

Training Asset Management

Own and manage all Professional Education assets, including: Cadaveric training instrument sets

Surgical education equipment

Virtual Reality (VR) platforms

Proximie assets

Simulation models and educational tools

Maintain inventory governance, utilisation tracking, budget optimisation, and audit readiness.

Event Management & Operations (10%)

Lead planning and execution of educational events, workshops, cadaver labs, observerships, fellowships, and scientific programmes.

Manage contracts, vendors, faculty coordination, logistics, and operational requirements.

Ensure flawless execution of local, regional, and international educational activities.

Academic Partnerships & Scientific Collaboration

Develop partnerships with medical colleges, universities, surgical societies, and academic institutions.

Facilitate collaborative educational initiatives with professional associations and teaching hospitals.

Expand access to advanced procedural education opportunities.

Compliance, Quality & Governance

Ensure all educational programmes comply with: DePuy Synthes Health Care Compliance (HCC) requirements

UCPMP guidelines

Local statutory regulations

Industry codes and company policies

Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Government Affairs teams to ensure appropriate programme governance.

Maintain audit readiness and documentation standards.

Compliant Scientific Communications

Coordinate educational communications and promotional awareness initiatives related to Professional Education activities.

Support compliant social media, digital communication, and scientific dissemination activities.

Ensure all communications adhere to approved regulatory and compliance standards.

Performance Metrics & Dashboard Management

Develop and maintain Professional Education dashboards and business intelligence reports.

Qualifications

Education

MBA preferred.

Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Healthcare, Biomedical Sciences, Business, or related discipline.

Experience

Minimum 5-8 years of experience in Medical Education, Professional Education, Healthcare Training, Medical Devices, Orthopaedics, CMF, Sports Medicine, or related healthcare sectors.

Experience in designing and implementing integrated learning solutions.

Experience managing educational events, faculty networks, and academic collaborations.

Experience working in a matrix organisation and collaborating across functions.
