Purpose of Role

 

The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Team aims to provide high-quality occupational Health & Safety services to all Sanofi employees, ensuring their health, safety, and wellbeing in the workplace.

The Occupational Safety Specialist is responsible for implementing the Korea HSE Occupational Safety program, collaborating with Senior Management, Line Management, and employees to ensure the effective implementation of a proactive Occupational Health & Safety Management System.

This role ensures compliance with the Korean Occupational Safety and Health Act as well as Sanofi Global HSE standards. The incumbent will ensure accurate reporting of events, analysis of hazardous situations, and make regular measurements of strategies and platforms to assure improvement where necessary.

Priorities

Support Senior Management and Line Managers to promote HSE culture and values.

Drive Leading safety program and other initiatives aimed at HSE cultural transformation.

Promote HSE good practices & raise HSE awareness to support a proactive organization including training, HSE days, communication programs.

Work closely with HSE corporate experts, business partners and regions to ensure that site strategies are aligned with the Group policies and practices.

Present HSE performance to the Country Leadership Team in Korea on a Quarterly basis (or at least every 6 months).

Present the Affiliate Risk Map and Action Plan to the Country Council Annually.

Develop an integrated HSE Management system aligned with the Corporate HSE Management System

Initiate, supervise, coordinate (and carry out) the site's HSE risks/impacts assessments and ensure implementation of risk mitigation measures.

Organize and animate local HSE Committee to inform and engage top management regarding affiliate HSE priorities.

Implement and monitor the relevant HSE action plan (PASS) at site level consistently with Corporate strategic plans.

Ensure Health, Safety and Environment laws are regularly monitored and check compliance of the operations.

Ensure Emergency preparedness plans are documented.

Be a proactive actor in all HSE related situations and crisis as well as in business continuity planning and implementation supporting the Crisis Management Committee.

Ensure all work related accident (with and without injuries) and environmental accidents are reported in a timely fashion in the HSE Group reporting system and with appropriate paper works for competent authority.

Manage and coordinate the contracts of its perimeter and guarantee the respect of allocated budgets.

Organize training for new workers for topics including (but not limited to), workplace risk assessment, road safety, ergonomics health promotion and fire evacuation.

Through the leadership of the Road Safety Chairperson, deploy Road Safety programs.

Monitor and report the country Road Safety Index in order to clearly measure the existing level and actions.

Carry out the mandatory safety induction training of all contractors, regular and non-routine.

Drive All Well and Planet Care initiatives across affiliate in line with corporate strategy.

Monitor and reduce the environmental footprint of site operations, including energy consumption, waste management, and water usage, in alignment with Sanofi's global sustainability goals

Promote environmental awareness among employees through regular training, campaigns, and engagement programs to foster a culture of sustainability and environmental responsibility across the workplace

Ensure that contractors are managed by principals in compliance with local regulations and Sanofi rules (contractors coordination measures, work permit authorization, specific work permit for hazardous task (LOTO, works at height, confined space…), documented safety prior visit on field, inspections, annual assessments)

At least 4-years of experience in managing HSE for multi-national corporations(Total 4-8 years of relevant experiences in occupational safety.)

Experience managing and working within a multi-cultural team
