Technical Sourcing Team Manager (all genders)
About this opportunity
Your Role:
As Technical Sourcing Team Manager, you will lead a dedicated sourcing team of five across EMEA, driving sourcing execution excellence for technical projects and recurring spend initiatives that directly support three distinct business sectors and site operations. You will own the full sourcing lifecycle from strategy development and supplier qualification through negotiation, contract management, and performance oversight across a broad supplier market spanning architecture and engineering services, construction, laboratory and production equipment, site services, specialist gases, and technical consumables. Acting as the critical link between internal stakeholders and the external supply base, you will translate business needs into category strategies that deliver measurable value through cost savings, risk reduction, and quality improvement. You will foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture, aligning your team's priorities with global category strategies while building strong cross-functional networks across sites. With up to 25% travel, primarily within EMEA, you will maintain close proximity to key stakeholders and suppliers, ensuring strategies are grounded in real market intelligence and business insight.
Who You Are:
You bring a degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field or equivalent professional experience combined with at least 10 years of procurement or engineering experience in a multinational environment, ideally within the chemical or life science industry.
You have a proven track record of leading sourcing teams within a complex, matrixed organisation, with demonstrated accountability for team performance, development, and results.
You are experienced in strategic sourcing methodologies, including supplier qualification, competitive bidding, negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management, with a strong focus on total value delivery.
You bring solid project management skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives across cross-functional and geographically diverse teams, balancing competing priorities with a structured and reliable approach.
You communicate with confidence and clarity across all levels of an organisation, with strong intercultural awareness and the ability to align diverse stakeholder interests in a global environment.
You are fluent in German and English (written and spoken); proficiency in French is an additional advantage.
You demonstrate the agility and resilience to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-moving environment, maintaining focus and quality under pressure while remaining open to new approaches and continuous improvement.

How we calculate "similar"
No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.
Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.
0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
