Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Animal Breeding:
Manage, monitor and oversee mice breeding conditions, making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal breeding outcomes and the health and genetic integrity of laboratory animal colonies.
Animal Experimentation and documentation:
Manage and coordinate all activities related to the breeding of laboratory animals and the production of ascites fluid, tumors and rabbit antibody (immunization and bleeding) ensuring the highest quality and compliance with protocols and ensuring adherence to ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
Participate in the development of hybridoma cells and ensure the quality of raw materials transferred to other departments.
Participate in organ harvesting and ensure the quality of raw materials transferred to other departments.
Collect and record data accurately - Maintaining detailed records of experimental procedures and outcomes in accordance with established protocols and SOPs in the desired IT applications.
Schedule and monitor production processes, providing real-time technical support and problem-solving to maintain uninterrupted workflow.
Lead process improvements by introducing new technologies and optimizing production processes to meet market trends.
Interact collaboratively with the research team (e.g., the Principal Investigator or Study Director) and support with application request.
Animal Housing and Care:
Provide daily care for laboratory animals, including feeding, watering, and monitoring health and behaviour.
Maintain clean and sanitary housing environments, including regular cleaning and disinfection of cages, carts and any support equipment.
Compliance and Welfare:
Ensure compliance with all relevant animal welfare regulations and guidelines, including the 4Rs principles.
Ensure the quality of care and animal facility environment follows corporate standards and policies, as well as governmental regulations and other guidelines.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001-2000 standards, as well as local and international animal welfare regulations, including AAALAC guidelines.
Interact collaboratively with MoH veterinary visits and collaborate with changes and adjustments according to visit findings.
Interact collaboratively with audits (e.g., AAALAC, SQ-AW, LS-QA).
Education
Relevant certification or qualification for handling rodents and rabbits.
Knowledge of animal welfare regulations and guidelines, including the 4Rs principles.
Professional Skills& Work Experience
Practical lab work experience with a strong understanding of laboratory animal husbandry, breeding, and production techniques.
Experience in facility maintenance and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to animal welfare.
Personal Skills & Competencies
Excellent organizational and time-management skills to achieving results on time.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Technical proficiency with computer systems and controlled equipment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Requirements:
Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to accommodate animal care schedules.
