Your new role

As Senior Manager, Global Medical Affairs, you will lead a team of Global Medical Advisors and a Publications lead based in Bangalore, driving performance, development and execution of key GMA deliverables. Working in close matrix collaboration with GMA Denmark, you will help set direction, deliver strategic initiatives and ensure that the scientific voice of Novo Nordisk continues to translate into meaningful outcomes for patients.

Your responsibilities will include:

People leadership: Drive performance management, resource planning, coaching and career development for the Global Medical Advisors and Publications lead, while creating an engaged, inclusive team culture where diverse strengths thrive.

Organisational development: Shape job design, succession planning and talent management, and contribute to setting direction for the GMA Bangalore department to meet its business targets.

Matrix collaboration: Partner closely with Directors and Senior Directors in GMA Den-mark to align on team performance, feedback, project delivery and new opportunities for collaboration, representing GMA Bangalore in leadership forums.

Strategic initiatives: Drive high-impact projects across GMA and GMA Bangalore in are-as such as AI, medical insights and consumerisation of healthcare.

Stakeholder engagement: Represent GMA across internal partners in Medical Affairs, Marketing, Global Development, Regulatory, Public Affairs and Core Brand Teams, and engage externally with Health Care Professionals, Opinion Leaders and scientific organisations.

Continual improvement: Identify and lead initiatives that strengthen ways of working, elevate scientific communication and reinforce GMA Bangalore's contribution to the global agenda.

Your new department

In Product & Portfolio Strategy we drive commercial strategy, medical affairs and business development across all therapy areas. We act as a connector and compass, guiding the new Novo Nordisk portfolio for sustained competitiveness upstream, and maximising portfolio potential through successful commercial strategies and competitive launches downstream.

Within this, Global Medical Affairs Bangalore is a well-established hub of scientific and medical expertise, working hand in hand with GMA Denmark to shape medical strategy, generate evidence and engage the global scientific community. You will join a collaborative, ambitious team where medical insight and strategic thinking come together to influence how our therapies are understood and used around the world.

Your skills & qualifications

We are looking for an experienced leader who combines scientific depth with a genuine passion for developing people and driving strategy in a global matrix. You will bring:

MBBS, MD, PhD, MSc or comparable degree, ideally with a Life Sciences background and clinical or medical experience in diabetes; additional education in pharma business or marketing is an advantage.

At least 5 years' clinical and/or pharmaceutical industry experience, including 2-5 years in a leadership role, with a solid understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and drug development.

Proven ability to lead, coach and develop teams, get results through others and build a culture of engagement, accountability and belonging.

Strong strategic mindset, with experience driving initiatives and projects in an international matrix organisation and collaborating across scientific, medical and commercial stakeholders.

Excellent communication, presentation and networking skills, and fluency in spoken and written English.

Willingness to travel 5–10% globally to congresses, program events and affiliate meetings.
