The Position
In a global, cross-functional environment, the PCR Software Development chapter develops, delivers and and maintains integrated, unified and reliable software solutions for Molecular Diagnostics Systems by leveraging our advanced capabilities, in-depth knowledge and strong internal & external partnerships driving the accuracy, efficiency and agility in innovating the Molecular Lab experience for our customers and patients throughout their journey.
The Opportunity
As a Software TechLead, you will be part of a cross-functional team playing a pivotal role in facilitating agile processes and ensuring effective collaboration in developing software solutions. You will enable our Molecular Lab network to deliver accurate and timely diagnostic solutions and your contributions will support the Diagnostics 10-year ambition.
In this position, you will be challenged in the following areas:
You work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders (Product Owner, System Architect, Solution Architect, System Engineers, etc.) to understand and translate complex business and customer needs into effective technical solutions and communicate these to the team and the stakeholders.
You design and develop innovative software solutions that meet regulatory requirements as well as fulfill system quality attributes like scalability, performance, reliability, maintainability, interoperability, extensibility, etc.
You guide the team to adhere to best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration, to deliver high-quality solutions and foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
You act as a mentor and role model, guiding and empowering team members in technical development, promoting a collaborative working environment and contributing effectively to the team's success.
Who you are
You as a candidate for our dynamic team will have the following skills and experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in the specialized field of Software Development / Engineering and experience in IVD software development is a plus for succeeding in the role
Several years of proven experience in software development, with a demonstrated passion and hands-on professional experience
Experience working with Rust incl. a solid understanding of Rust's core concepts (ownership, borrowing, and lifetimes), experience with asynchronous programming in Rust (e.g., using async/await) and familiarity with common Rust libraries and frameworks (e.g., tokio, actix-web, rocket, serde, sqlx) is a plus. If no prior Rust experience is available, willingness to learn and develop later on in Rust is required and experience in a familiar language (like C++) is preferred.
Experience with modern system architectures like event-driven architecture and DDD, quality-driven practices such as TDD and BDD, or containerization technologies like Kubernetes is a plus.
Demonstrated experience in transforming customer value into implementable solutions.
Capable of solving complex issues creatively and effectively, using a multi-faceted approach based on thorough analysis to resolve complex project challenges.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster an inclusive and diverse environment as well as collaborate effectively within and across teams.
Leads by example to foster cross-functional value delivery and to establish a psychologically safe working environment and empowers its own team and holds people accountable by creating conditions for ownership.

Certified ISAQB or equivalent is a plus.
