Tasks & responsibilities

In your role as Senior System Engineer, you will contribute to global development projects and being responsible for planning, solution design, technical architecture, implementation, qualification, and handover to the operational support units.

Your passion for IT systems, technologies and interfaces will enable you to act as a link between development and business teams, shaping requirements to ensure the successful implementation of projects or system enhancements.

Working alongside your team colleagues, you will play a significant role in developing concepts for software solutions, contributing your ideas, and expanding your technical expertise.

You will support integration tests, developer tests, and software documentation, fostering a culture of growth and learning.

You will assume responsibility of 3rd level support in your area, involving external partners to ensure seamless collaboration between them.

In close coordination with relevant stakeholders in IT, you will support the harmonization, simplification, and automation of IT services and processes.

Finally, you will be end-to-end responsible for maintaining and continuously improving processes & systems in your area throughout their lifecycle, including their deployment and implementation on platform solutions such as SAP.

Requirements

Degree in Information Technology, Business Informatics, Industrial Engineering, or comparable qualification, combined with experience as an IT/SAP professional and/ or expertise in SAP IBP

Several years of IT experience with a proven track record in SAP development, enhancements, configuration, combined with hands-on experience in SAP development tools and technologies for SAP ERP S/4 HANA and ideally SAP-based Supply Chain Planning solutions

Strong analytical mindset and experience with complex IT system landscapes will be crucial in this role, especially when it comes to the technical integration of global processes and application systems

Solid programming expertise in e.g. ABAP, and SQL, enabling you to develop and customize technical solutions effectively

Experience with cloud-based data integration combined with knowledge of emerging technologies such as cloud computing, AI, robotic process automation (RPA), and data analytics (reporting) would be beneficial

A data-driven mindset and the ability to understand how data and analytics enable more informed decision-making would be valuable

Familiarity with tools like JIRA and ServiceNow would be a plus, along with knowledge of application infrastructure, software update services, and system lifecycle management

Motivated team player with a global mindset, strong collaborative & communication skills, and the ability to work independently. Fluency in English is essential, and German knowledge is a plus
