Make your mark for patients

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES & PROJECTS

Using his/her existing network(s) or establishing new connections at external forums in China and East/South East Asia together with use of available search databases, the candidate will scout across pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and/or academia for external assets or programs aligned with UCB’s strategic therapeutic interests.

The candidate will be expected to bring in ideas from the external environment to support/add to the internal UCB neurology pipeline as well as provide input into the strategy for the various research areas.

The function will also include acting as the due diligence expert lead/coordinator within a larger due diligence team, with the aim to proactively provide recommendations to decision committees.  In this capacity, he/she will be autonomous in,

(i) critically assessing a range of preclinical and clinical data packages and

(ii) provide a broader recommendation on opportunities by delivering an integrated viewpoint to senior management.

Build and continuously expand a curated domestic network of immunology, neurology or neuromuscular key stakeholders, including academic PIs, biotechs, translational institutions and local venture capital investors; proactively conduct regular lab visits and industry outreach to source undisclosed early-stage Chinese assets

Support negotiations and early governance of China-centric partnership structures prevalent in local industry, such as co-development frameworks, join research labs and option-to-acquire arrangements; coordinate cross-border compliance for human genetic resources and cross-sample sharing for China-originated collaborations

Compile regular China therapeutic landscape intelligence reports covering modalities, domestic competitive pipelines, CDE policy updates and local investment trends
