Key Responsibilities:

This role is part of the Digital & Commercial Innovation team, focused on enabling an insights-driven commercial ecosystem that accelerates data-driven decision-making, operational excellence, and sustainable growth across J&J MedTech.

The Senior Analyst, Commercial Analytics & AI will lead key commercial analytics workstreams and shape the data products, measurement frameworks, analytics solutions, and Agentic AI capabilities used across Marketing, Sales, Professional Education, and other commercial functions. This role will partner closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, data science, and external vendors to translate strategic business questions into measurable analytics plans, create AI-ready data assets, automate and maintain data pipelines, and deliver scalable solutions that improve insight generation, optimization, and business productivity.

By combining expertise in commercial analytics, measurement and optimization, data management, and AI-enabled technologies, this role will establish trusted data foundations, generate actionable insights, and influence commercial decisions.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

Lead advanced commercial analyses that evaluate customer engagement, campaign effectiveness, channel performance, sales impact, and business outcomes, translating insights into strategic recommendations for Marketing and Sales leadership.

Contribute to the commercial analytics roadmap, identify scalable opportunities for analytics and AI enablement, and provide guidance to colleagues and partners on analytical methods, data interpretation, and solution adoption.

Lead the shaping and ongoing management of commercial data products, semantic data models, KPI calculations, measurement frameworks, and curated datasets that power dashboards, reporting solutions, and AI-enabled analytics capabilities.

Collaborate with Marketing, Education, Technology, Data Science and external agencies to deliver in-depth monthly tactical reporting and ongoing behavioral insights generation at the individual, customer segment, account, IDN and GPO levels.

Partner with commercial and technology teams to lead and enable trusted data foundations and scalable analytics solutions that support consistent performance measurements across Marketing, Sales, Professional Education, and other commercial functions.

Define, document, and maintain business rules, metric definitions, and data lineage to ensure consistent interpretation and use of commercial data assets.

Collaborate with Data Science to shape Agentic AI solutions and conversational analytics capabilities that enable commercial users to access insights, answer business questions, and automate routine analytical tasks.

Monitor AI solution performance, validate outputs, troubleshoot issues, and continuously enhance capabilities as business requirements and data ecosystems evolve.

Partner with current AI contractor during solution development and ultimately assume responsibility for the ongoing management, optimization, support, and expansion of Agentic AI capabilities following implementation.

Coordinate and lead cross-functional delivery with internal technology teams, Data Science, business partners, and external vendors to develop, automate, maintain, and troubleshoot commercial data pipelines and analytics products.

Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior commercial leaders and influence decisions through data-driven storytelling.

Qualifications

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of relevant business experience in commercial analytics, marketing analytics, sales analytics, business analytics, or a related field, including at least 3 years of hands-on analytics experience with a proven track record of success is required

Prior experience leading or independently delivering commercial analytics across marketing, sales, customer engagement, or related business functions is required; Experience within MedTech, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or another regulated industry is required

Comprehensive understanding of commercial measurement and optimization, including KPI development, performance measurement, test-and-learn approaches, customer or campaign analytics, insight generation, and translating findings into recommended actions is required.

Experience developing and maintaining semantic data models, data products, curated datasets, and reporting-ready data assets is required

Familiarity developing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting Agentic AI solutions or AI-enabled analytics capabilities is required

Experience with conversational analytics platforms, AI copilots, AI assistants, or agent-based analytics solutions is required

Experience working with modern cloud-based data platforms and analytics environments such as Databricks is preferred

Experience in query data access tools (i.e. SQL, Python, etc.) or other data access methods required

Ability to work independently, lead complex analytics workstreams, and take a proactive, results-oriented approach from problem definition through recommendation and implementation.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Ability to collaborate and lead teams in a complex, evolving environment and within a matrixed organization

This position will require up to 20% travel, US domestic.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$94,000.00 - $151,800.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
