Tasks & responsibilities

In your new role, you will drive the technical execution of siRNA projects.

You will execute solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis at research to mid-scale using RNA synthesizers, applying both routine and next-generation phosphoramidite chemistries.

Furthermore, you will plan, optimize and trouble-shoot methods to improve coupling, capping, deprotection, cleavage, yield, purity and scalability, and oligonucleotide conjugation chemistries.

You will coordinate and perform purification, desalting and analytical characterization of oligonucleotides.

Moreover, you will operate, maintain and troubleshoot critical laboratory instrumentation, and take accountability for the oligonucleotide synthesis facility.

You will train and coordinate Laboratory Scientists, providing technical guidance and fostering knowledge sharing across the team.

Finally, you will document results with a high level of accuracy and reproducibility, contribute to patent applications, and provide technical expertise as a hands-on point of contact for synthesis and purification questions in project teams..

Requirements

Completed vocational training or Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline with extensive hands-on experience in oligonucleotide synthesis

Strong practical expertise in solid-phase synthesis, deprotection, purification and analytical characterization of oligonucleotides including method development and optimization

Sound knowledge of oligonucleotide conjugates, linker chemistry, and bioconjugation approaches

Hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation used in oligonucleotide synthesis and analysis; experience in setting up or managing an oligonucleotide laboratory is highly desirable

Interest in innovative RNA therapeutics and modern drug discovery.

Independent, structured and reliable working style.

Collaborative and team-oriented mindset with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Fluency in written and spoken English, coupled with a willingness to acquire basic German language skills

Start date: ASAP
