We are searching for the best talent for Repair & Maintenance Engineer.

Purpose:

Self- direct, or under limited or null supervision, works on complex by nature assignments, which require considerable criteria, judgment and initiative to solve problems and issue recommendations.

Supervises experienced business enablers and/or entry individual contributors.

Coordinates processes and assignments for the Repair & Maintenance Engineering team and supports organizational objectives and business goals by maintaining and repairing facilities and equipment used in production processes.

Implement project terms to meet objectives and goals of the Repair & Maintenance Engineering area and ensure the reliability and performance of the organization's equipment’s capital investments.

Ensures compliance of repair processes and maintenance programs with safety regulations and serves as a primary point of contact for junior team members.

Follow all maintenance and calibration procedures in compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Managed operational aspects of their team (e.g., workflow, performance, and compliance), as well as ensuring achievement of team goals within expected standards.

You will be responsible for:

Following all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

Supervises individual contributors and is accountable for conducting effective performance management.

Aids with coordination of processes and assignments for Repair & Maintenance Engineering area to ensure delivery of consistent maintenance programs and engineering repair projects.

Leads the implementation of preventive maintenance programs, equipment repairs, and maintenance engineering projects that contribute to the optimization and increased productivity of the organization manufacturing facilities and equipment.

Devises risk assessments and provide input about the integration and utilization of new equipment and machinery by conducting engineering reviews of proposed equipment to assess reliability, maintenance costs, and identifying "unknown" safety risks.

Maintains steady workflow and productivity and resolves operational decisions within the team.

Managed operational aspects of their team (e.g., workflow, performance, and compliance), as well as ensuring achievement of team goals within expected standards.

Understands and applies Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives in day-to-day interactions with team.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Experience and education

Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Mechanical, Industrial, Biomedical, Electro‑Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Minimum of 2-4 years of progressive experience in maintenance and repair functions within regulated manufacturing environments, including one or more of the following disciplines: electronics, mechanics, production equipment maintenance, testing, quality support, or process control.

Experience supporting calibrations, preventive and corrective maintenance programs using electronic CMMS (e.g., Maximo or equivalent).

Experience working with measuring, inspection, and test equipment such as optical comparators, vision systems, micrometers, verniers, pressure and temperature standards, and electrical measurement devices is preferred, depending on assigned responsibilities.

Required knowledge, skills, abilities, certifications/licenses and affiliations

Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and offer technical guidance to maintenance and calibration technicians.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to make sound technical decisions in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple activities, balancing safety, quality, compliance, and operational needs.

Ability to identify and assess equipment‑related risks, deviations, and recurring issues, and to escalate appropriately following quality system requirements.

Advanced understanding of preventive, corrective, predictive, and condition-based maintenance strategies.

Strong knowledge of GMP, GDP, and quality systems, including documentation best practices and regulatory compliance.

Proficient in Maximo eCMMS for asset management, job plan creation, PM scheduling, labor planning, and data governance.

Skilled in handling, calibrating, and keeping a wide range of measuring and testing equipment (optical comparators, vision systems, micrometers, verniers, electrical measurement equipment, pressure/temperature instruments, etc.).

Ability to interpret and apply technical drawings, datasheets, engineering standards, and maintenance procedures.

Experience using document management systems, maintenance indicators, and KPI-based performance improvement.

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish, supporting effective interactions across Operations, Engineering, Quality, and external suppliers.

Ability to communicate technical information clearly to technicians, engineers, suppliers, and auditors.

Demonstrated ability to provide training, coaching, and guidance to technicians and team members in eCMMS usage and maintenance processes.

Experience in team building, presentations, and supplier coordination.

Capable of supervising and guiding Calibration Technicians, PM Technicians, and other maintenance personnel.

Strong analytical capabilities for diagnosing failures, finding root causes, and implementing corrective actions.

Ability to use statistical analysis tools and project management software to improve maintenance strategies and resources.
