Your Role
The Quality Control Team Lead balances hands-on quality control operations with direct team leadership. Serving as the department’s subject matter expert, you will ensure all QC activities meet safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency standards. You will take ownership of lab schedules, troubleshooting, and training team members on core procedures. In this role, you will lead by example, actively contributing to daily operations while driving performance targets, fostering open communication, and spearheading continuous improvement initiatives to elevate the team's overall success.
Responsibilities include the following:
Coordinate daily QC activities, manage lab schedules, and optimize capacity planning to ensure timely testing while hitting safety, quality, and supply continuity goals
Ensure all lab activities align with regulatory and compliance standards, maintain thorough documentation for audits, and use data-driven insights to guide daily operational decisions
Empower team members to prevent injuries and quality issues by utilizing formal risk assessments, proactive observations, and standardizing global test methods
Align quality capabilities with customer expectations to ensure final products meet specific demands for customization and an excellent overall customer experience
Identify opportunities for process improvement, implement streamlined workflows, and leverage digital tools and performance metrics to enhance team efficiency
Oversee lab equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and consumables management to guarantee consistent, reliable test results
Support, train, and mentor team members, guide them through new process or technology rollouts, and step in for the QC Supervisor as needed
Partner with production, engineering, and QA to drive shared ownership of quality outcomes, helping to upskill operators and engineers in quality requirements and autonomous decision-making
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or other Life Science discipline
5+ years of Quality Control experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated leadership ability within a pharmaceutical analytical laboratory, with a strong background in ISO and cGMP quality standards
Expertise in efficiently managing lab personnel, equipment, and consumables to maximize productivity and minimize waste
Proficiency in diverse QC testing methods, alongside strong analytical skills to manage testing schedules, results, and resource allocation for informed decision-making
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively coordinate between the QC lab, production teams, and external stakeholders on quality goals and timelines
Computer literate with experience in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and specialized systems such as Trackwise, Mango, or HR4You
Strong organizational and planning skills with a proven ability to manage and execute multiple tasks simultaneously
Salary Range for this position - $64,900 - $107,900 annually
The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
