This role leads biomarker and diagnostic activities to enable patient selection, registrational biomarker endpoints and biomarker based clinical trial design. Acting as a key scientific and strategic partner, the position ensures high-quality execution of precision medicine initiatives across global clinical programs. This position supports the Neuroscience disease area.

Job DescriptionAbout the RoleThe Precision Medicine Director leads the development and execution of precision medicine strategies in support of clinical programs, ensuring alignment with broader disease area and global development strategies.This role operates at the intersection of clinical development, biomarker science, and diagnostics, leading cross-functional teams to design and implement biomarker strategies. The position plays a critical role in enabling patient selection, supporting regulatory submissions, and ensuring high-quality, compliant delivery of clinical and diagnostic programs.Key Responsibilities Develop and execute precision medicine strategies aligned with disease area and clinical program objectivesLead cross-functional biomarker sub-teams covering molecular epidemiology, assay development, and data analysisServe as a core member of global clinical teams and act as subject matter expert in precision medicineContribute to diagnostic target product profiles and companion diagnostic development strategiesIdentify and manage risks to ensure successful delivery of precision medicine programsAuthor biomarker and diagnostic sections of key clinical development documentsSupport regulatory submissions as a precision medicine and biomarker expertFacilitate collaborations with external academic and scientific partnersEnsure compliance with applicable medical device regulations and internal quality standardsPromote knowledge sharing and contribute to operational excellence and process improvementEssential Requirements Significant experience in clinical research, clinical trials, or precision medicine within a life sciences environmentProven experience leading cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teamsStrong understanding of biomarker strategies, companion diagnostics, and clinical development processesExperience working within regulated environments and complying with global regulatory standardsStrong leadership, stakeholder management, and collaboration skillsAbility to manage risk and drive strategic decision-makingExperience developing clinical or regulatory documentationStrong scientific and analytical capabilities within life sciencesDesirable Requirements Experience supporting global regulatory submissions for diagnostics or biomarker strategiesExperience working with external academic or research collaborationsCommitment to Diversity and InclusionNovartis is committed to building an outstanding, inclusive work environment and diverse teams representative of the patients and communities we serve.Why Novartis: Helping people with disease and their families takes more than innovative science.
