About this opportunity
Your Role:
As a Process Development Scientist at the Expert 2 level, you will serve as a key technical resource in bioprocessing and downstream process development. With a focus on applications such as Clarification, Virus Filtration, TFF, Chromatography, and Sterile Filtration, you will work closely with customers to identify their technical needs and provide hands-on support throughout the downstream process development lifecycle. You will build strong customer relationships while collaborating with internal commercial and technical teams to support the adoption of the company's technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Engagement & Project Management
Proactively engage with customers to identify and understand their downstream process development needs and technical challenges through discussions, site visits, and regular communication.
Develop tailored process development proposals and study protocols based on customer objectives, feed stream characteristics, and applicable best practices.
Serve as the technical point of contact throughout the project process development lifecycle, ensuring alignment between customer expectations and experimental plans.
Communicate experimental results and project progress to customers via written reports, teleconferences, and face-to-face meetings, ensuring clarity and an excellent customer experience.
Maintain ongoing follow-up with customers to address technical questions and ensure continuity of support.
Build and sustain trusted, long-term relationships with customer technical teams.
2. Hands-On Process Development & Technical Delivery
Design and execute hands-on experiments for downstream process development, scale-up, and implementation using customer feed streams and company technologies.
Process and analyze experimental data; apply scientific reasoning to generate actionable conclusions and technically sound recommendations.
Compile and deliver high-quality experimental reports with clear data presentation, interpretation, and next-step guidance.
Support scale-down studies to assist customers in process troubleshooting and root cause investigation.
Follow and contribute to the development of protocols aligned with industry best practices.
3. Internal Collaboration & Commercial Support
Collaborate with internal teams including Account Managers and Customer Application partners to effectively address customer needs and support technology adoption.
Capture and share voice-of-customer (VOC) insights with relevant internal functions (R&D, Franchises, CA, etc.).
Identify and communicate commercial opportunities arising from customer technical interactions.
Support product demonstrations, technical presentations, and customer trainings as needed.
4. Knowledge Development & Technical Contribution
Participate in thought leadership activities such as webinars, customer workshops, or conference seminars.
Deliver technical training to internal and external customers, with emphasis on downstream processing and applications.
Continuously develop technical expertise and stay current with industry trends and advances in biopharmaceutical process development.
