Job Description:

We are looking for the best Manufacturing Operators for our USP/DSP and Fill and Finish departments in Sassenheim, Netherlands!

Join our fully digital Lenti Viral Vector Facility in Sassenheim, producing vectors for multiple myeloma treatment impacting 160,000 patients worldwide. As we prepare for commercial production in mid-2026, we’re looking for Manufacturing Operators (USP/DSP/F&F) to support cell expansion, virus production, purification, and automated filling under GMP and BSL2 conditions.

As a Manufacturing Operator, you will Support the installation and operation of new equipment, writing job breakdown sheets for training and work instructions. Collaborating in the execution of the daily task and the supporting activities of the department according to procedures and detailed schedule. Perform process and GMP documentation activities raise process deviations, notice process gaps, and tackle them, train operators. Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and procedures Work safely and compliantly in line with GMP, EHS, and quality standards

Qualifications / Requirements:

Preferably an MBO 4 or HBO in laboratory & biotechnology, biochemistry, biomedicine, process technology, allround laborant OR equivalent education level with proven experience in biotech or biopharma manufacturing.

Hands-on expertise in a BSL2 environment, focusing on cell culture, virus propagation, purification, or Fill & Finish, adhering to GMP and EHS standards.

Strong English communication skills, with the ability to analyse complex situations and maintain high accuracy and independence.

Adaptable teammate with a proactive approach, ready to tackle challenges and work flexible shifts.

About the departments:

Upstream Processing (USP)

The USP department focuses on culturing cells and infecting them with a virus. The team operates on a 13/7 shift roster with 19,99% shift allowance.

Key activities include:

Culturing and inoculation of cells in Shaker Flasks and Wave bags

Daily monitoring of cell cultures (cell count, pH, sampling)

Preparing and executing transfection processes

Preparing process additions (e.g. Benzonase solutions)

Harvesting and clarification of cell culture material

Sample handling and documentation for USP activities

Downstream Processing (DSP)

The DSP department is responsible for the purification of viral vectors. The team operates on a 13/7 shift roster with 19,99% shift allowance.

Key activities include:

Purification using Ion Exchange chromatography

Sterile filtration, including filter integrity testing (PUPSIT)

Ultrafiltration and diafiltration

Sample handling and documentation for DSP activities

Fill & Finish (F&F)

The F&F department performs the final filling, preparation, freezing, and storage of the product. The team operates on a 16/7 with a shift allowance with 26,19% shift allowance.

Key activities include:

Preparation and setup of isolators and filling equipment

Aseptic filling in a Grade A isolator using an automated filling robot

Visual inspection of filled vials

Labelling and storage of product in controlled freezers
