About this opportunity

Lead the design, execution, and continuous improvement of the company’s internal investigations, compliance monitoring, and assurance activities. Ensure rigorous, timely, and defensible investigations; oversee risk-based monitoring programs; champion country-level compliance forums and data privacy tasks; and foster a culture of integrity and regulatory compliance across the organization. Member of Global Compliance Leadership Team.

Your Role:

Strategy and governance:

Develop and execute the global investigations and monitoring strategy aligned with the company’s risk appetite and regulatory requirements.

Establish and maintain a robust local incident triage, prioritization, and escalation framework.

Partner with Group Compliance, Legal, Security, Internal Audit, HR, and business leaders to ensure holistic risk mitigation.

Investigations management

Lead complex, high-stakes internal investigations (e.g., corruption, conflicts of interest, privacy, sanctions, employee misconduct).

Oversee investigation methodology, documentation, evidence handling, interviews, and reporting.

Ensure timely, accurate, and legally defensible outcomes; coordinate with external counsel when appropriate.

Compliance monitoring and assurance

Design and manage risk-based monitoring programs (controls testing, third-party risk, policy adherence, data privacy, anti-bribery/anti-corruption, trade compliance).

Develop metrics, dashboards, and reporting for senior leadership and the Board.

Identify root causes, drive corrective actions, and track remediation progress.

Country data privacy champion responsibilities.

Policy and program development

Update and implement policies, procedures, and training related to investigations, monitoring, and privacy.

Provide guidance on regulatory requirements (e.g., anti-corruption, AML, data privacy, competition law) and industry best practices.

Risk assessment and continuous improvement

Regularly assess emerging regulatory risks and adapt investigations/monitoring programs accordingly.

Post-investigation learning, process improvements, and control enhancements.

Compliance operations

Oversee the deployment and maintenance of case management tools, data governance, and privacy considerations in investigations.

Ensure proper documentation, retention, and audit trails for all investigations and monitoring activities.

Implement the global Compliance Management System (CMS) in the area of responsibility, considering local specifics.

Strategic Impact:

Implement and maintain Compliance Framework in designated area of responsibility and ensuring adherence also to local legislation.

Interact with Compliance Center of Expertise (CoE) to provide relevant information and evidence in relation to the implementation of the global Compliance Management System (CMS).

Scope of People Responsibility:

People and capability

Lead, develop, and coach a high-performing investigations and monitoring team; manage hiring, performance, and development plans.

Foster a culture of ethics, integrity, and accountability; provide guidance on sensitive personnel issues with discretion.

Stakeholder management

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and business units on regulatory risk and investigation findings.

Manage relationships with internal and external auditors and external service providers as needed.

Ensure clear, timely communications with impacted parties, including executive briefings and Board-level updates.

Who you are:

Education: Bachelor above degree in Law, Compliance, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Professional certifications preferred.

Experience: 10+ years in legal, compliance, investigations, risk management, or internal audit; multinational corporate experience preferred.

Knowledge: Strong understanding of anti-corruption, data privacy regulations, trade compliance, sanctions, AML, and competition/antitrust considerations. Familiarity with life sciences/pharma regulatory environment is a plus.

Skills: Advanced investigative techniques, risk assessment, project management, data analysis, storytelling with data, and executive-facing communication.

Tools: Proficiency with case-management systems, data analytics tools.

Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively across a diverse, highly-matrixed organization.

Ability to think strategically, lead multiple initiatives simultaneously, and to work independently.

Able to thrive in a proactive, values-driven culture in which compliance and business objectives are mutually reinforcing;.

Strong interpersonal and communication soft skills and training delivery capabilities.
