In this role, you’ll shape the future of our global biosimilar pipeline. As Global Director Pipeline Biosimilar Platform, you’ll sit at the crossroads of science, commercial strategy, and investment decisions, helping determine which biosimilar assets we invest in, when, and at what scale.
You’ll work closely with commercial, R&D, regulatory, market access, manufacturing, and competitive intelligence teams to ensure our portfolio choices are scientifically sound, commercially attractive, and aligned with long‑term strategy. In a fast‑evolving biosimilar landscape with shorter lifecycles and shifting global dynamics, you’ll help keep us ahead of the curve and deliberate in where we place our bets.
Your responsibilities will include:
Ensuring a Future‑Ready, Competitive Pipeline by:
Shaping global biosimilar pipeline strategy, including molecule/platform selection and portfolio balancing.
Building differentiated perspectives (thought-leadership) on emerging technologies, disease trends, and global market evolution.
Strengthening Analytical, Financial & Risk Discipline by:
Driving rigorous forecasting, valuation, and scenario planning, incorporating development risk, commercial uncertainty, IP dynamics, and competitive threat modelling.
Providing senior leadership with transparent, evidence‑based investment cases.
Accelerating Growth in a Complex & Dynamic Environment by:
Navigating increasing scientific and commercial complexity driven by new therapeutic modalities and expanding target spaces.
Ensuring adaptability to regulatory shifts, policy changes, and evolving standards of care, protecting investment decisions and maximizing the value of future launches.
Guiding early commercial strategy, including competitive Target Product Profile development.
What you’ll bring to the role:
A business and/or science background and degree is required. MD, science PhD, MBA or equivalent experience is desirable.
Minimum 12 years pharma industry expertise required. Strong specialty care and biologics background (oncology, immunology, rare diseases).
Ability to integrate scientific assessments, market trends, competitive threats, and evolving policy landscapes into clear strategic recommendations.
Expertise in shaping future‑ready portfolios, including molecule/platform selection, portfolio balancing, and prioritization.
Ability to project commercial potential, design competitive TPPs, and anticipate unmet needs or access barriers.
Demonstrated expertise in portfolio strategy, forecasting, valuation, and risk assessment.
Extensive commercial experience in global or major markets (e.g., Business Franchise Head, TA Lead, Director Strategy, Access).
Experience leading cross functional teams and influencing senior decision making. Direct people leadership experience is strongly preferred.
Strong communicator, capable of presenting complex decisions and recommendations to executive committees with clarity and conviction.
Fluent English (written and spoken). Additional languages are beneficial
What you'll receive:
Sandoz compensation is determined by job level, qualifications, niche skills, experience, and location within company salary ranges. Fully proficient and highly effective employees can expect a starting salary around market median, with those new to the level or with less functional depth at the lower end of the range and those with sustained superior or niche skills towards the higher end of the range. Internal equity and external market data inform our range placement. Annual salary reviews consider performance outcomes, market alignment, and business needs.

How we calculate "similar"
No black box, no LLM guesswork: a deterministic score built from four normalized attributes. Here's this role's own peer group at different match levels, so you can see the mechanism, not just the result.
Every comparison starts from the same 100-point budget: 25 for working in the same function, 40 for the same therapeutic area, 20 for the same or adjacent seniority, 15 for the same country. A dimension we can't confirm on both sides contributes nothing, never a guess, never a free pass.
0 points, never a partial guess. A role we know almost nothing about beyond its function bottoms out at 25%; it never inflates to 100% just because there's little to compare against. Seniority uses a defined ladder (Associate → Manager → Associate Director → Senior → Principal → Director → Senior Director → Executive/VP) so "Director" and "Senior Director" count as adjacent, but "Director" and "Executive/VP" do not.
